He said they deserved the ranking but overall he doesn't think they are the 2nd best team. The guy just has a different opinion. Half of my friends think we got a Smith impersonator playing qb. You guys can't expect everybody to fall in line and be down for the team after 7 games.
Yeah most folks that haven't seen what is going on firsthand probably have no clue. Dude is still someone that would likely not want to be around me for very long though, I have a low tolerance for dumbassery.

LOL at Stephen A Smith trying to talk football. The guy knows less than the average fan about football. I have always disliked him in his "matter of fact" tone and the fact that he pulls the race card as often as Jesse Jackson.

This X10000. The only sports shows I watch anymore are PTI and ATH and thats strictly because they entertain me. Inside the NFL used to be great but it's almost as terrible as NFLN. The amount of coverage has exploded, the quality is almost non existent.

I don't think he does. When have you ever seen skip bayless agree with anybody on first take? He's always taking the other side of whatever argument just to stir up conflict. Just Skip being Skip.

He's pretty damn good at that if you really think about it, I watched him argue with Terrel Suggs about Tebow and he straight told Suggs in his face "Tebow would run you over!" lol
Suggs looked like he wanted to kick his ass

I actually don't mind the argument against Alex. He has certainly earned it and I think we all know that he needs a whole season to get it done and probably a playoff win to take the monkey off of his back. THe only thing Stephen A. Smith is saying is he thinks that the 49ers would not consistently hold up against better competition with Alex at the helm. The good news is, love him or hate him. Smith has at least earned a place back in the discussion at the watercooler and at 6-1 he will have plenty more opportunities to make his case this season.
I for one am hopefull that Harbaugh is hiding smith. That he's bringing him slowly along, and hiding his true potential for later this season. Also there are any number of QBs over the years who seemed to "suddenly" become good. Rich Gannon did it. Jim Plunckett did it. Heck we 49ers fans are the absolute worst at forgetting how BAD steve young was with the Bucs and even in some of his early games.
Bottom line. You couldn't get a word in support of Alex Smith in on the Alex Smith fan thread this time last season. It must say something that you can't shut skip bayless up on national TV about it.
I also like that he said he was "a believer in Harbaugh." Nice. Which Stepen A. also copped to.

Alex has found his system and he is thriving in it. He is now the leader of the hottest surprise team in the NFL!

Well now Skip and Smith debating the Niners, neither one of them in this case knows what they are talking about. Those two always makes me laugh. There is one thing tho I am very grateful about is we dont have Tebow, could you imagine what the Tebow thread would be about.
