Look at previous years when we would get those 5-turnover games or in another area, the 5 sack games and we win. Those wins hid a lot of other deficiencies that we could not overcome if we play a team that is mistake free for the game. We still need to be able to show that we can beat teams if we don't get the turnovers.
It's no different like when we turn the ball over (early last season) and we say that we are a better team and should have won that or we say we can win if we can just keep the ball safe.
Whether the turnovers go for you or against you, they hide strengths and weaknesses of a team.
I'll by that somewhat, for now. Like the Ravens in their SB year, their defense was getting the turnovers to masked their awful offense.
Awful offense? They had the best RB n TE in the NFL.

Yeah, it was bad. They won because their defense made the other team's offense equally bad.

I will admit that we have been more lucky this year compared to past years. We fumbled the ball 3 times and only lost it once. In prior years, that fumble by Vernon would have bounced flat on the sideline for the defense to pick up.

Woah there champ. I never said anything about being an alex lover. in fact i hate the guy. The fact is that literally any QB with decent learning ability could have come out just like aaron rodgers by sitting behind favre.
Alex got picked over rodgers in the draft for a reason. He was BETTER than rodgers in college.

We're last in offense with a 2-1 record? Yay defense! Now if only we could get rid of that under-performing bum named Willis...

There is SO much more to winning in the NFL than offensive stats. I am stoked at this point in the season. We're in the perfect position. We're under the radar! Seriously, who watches our games? Not many "media experts" give us a chance, even in the NFC West. And most importantly, you can "see" the difference in our games under Harbaugh. He's taking care to win games without throwing everything on the field. He is very much a situational coach which this team has DESPERATELY needed the past 7 years. And as dj43 stated, once the offense begins to gel toward the middle of the year, hopefully, we'll really start rolling. That's when people will suddenly notice the Niners and say, whoa, where did they come from? They're going to make the playoffs!
Now I'm not saying we're going to do much in the playoffs (or that we'll even be a 9-10 win team), but you just NEVER know how much confidence can be injected into a team once they learn HOW to win and are doing it consistently...which is Harbaugh's thought process IMO.

How do you come to that conclusion? Rogers played tougher teams.

A QB wouldnt get picke +25 over another QB if he wasnt plain better coming into the draft.

And if we picked Rogers, where do you think Smith would have gone? A lot of the reason for Rogers dropping was that teams didn't not want to take another risk on a Tedford QB.

Who knows? Maybe smith gets picked up by green bay and sits behind farve, and becomes the best QB in the NFL. Rogers gets picked by the niners and is the biggest first round flop in history. The is fact that sitting behind Favre helped rogers game tremendously. i dont see how that could be an argument at all.

Probably after we had ZERO offense last week but I wouldn't read to much into it yet. By week 8 if we haven't opened things up more THEN we could be in trouble.. Its too early to worry about this stuff yet,,,

Nah, with Roger's throwing ability, on the Niners, he would be closer to a bad Brett Favre. There's a huge difference between throwing ability of Rogers and Smith.

There is but people who are logical and not homers, know you can't keep winning with how we are playing. It's not like we are winning convincingly. Sooner or later we are going to start getting crushed.

There is now, thanks to brett favre and the green bay coaching staff. There was not in college.
