Defense will have to be dominate from here on out if the 49ers want to 1. Reach the playoffs and 2. Make a deep run in thr playoffs.

Looked at the box scores at Espn and NFL.com and they had Justin Smith listed with no sacks last night. seriously? He had at least 2 sacks.
Just read something that said once they review the game film he should be credited with a couple of sacks. I was shocked that they did not give him credit last night.
he indeed got credited with 2

Cowboy has looked FIERCE these past few games. He'll always be my favorite all-time 49er.

I like Staley took balls to make that trade with NE.

Can anyone here break down how Justin has performed this year? Is he still making an impact on an elite level? I don't hear about him much anymore. However, I'll concede that doesn't mean he's not playing well.

Turns out Justin Smith, the 49ers' top defensive linemen, coped all last season with a shoulder injury he sustained in training camp. "It was what it was," Smith said Wednesday as the 49ers opened training camp. "It feels good now. They can fix you. That's a good thing."
I was not aware he was playing with a busted shoulder all year during 13-14.

This. Not worried about Justin Smith. He has old man strength. Still the best 3-4 DE not named J.J. Watt.

Justin Smith is one of my all time favorite Niners. But he will be 35 yrs old when the season starts which is pretty much a senior citizen by NFL standards and this will be his 14th season. Interior linemen (especially good ones with a non stop motor like Smith) take a serious beating every week. I'm very worried that he will suffer another injury that will prevent him from playing to his full potential.
