Preseason game 3 looked like game preseason game 4. Everyone just wanted to put in their play time and get off of the field without an injury. I think they need an afternoon of to go bowling, how about it Sing?

A basic 3 week install is going to be ugly, probably all season. I'm more concerned with our defense having the same issues for the last decade in basically the same scheme they've run for 6 years: no pass rush, can't cover.
Because of our historically lousy division, we'll win more games than we should and probably be sitting about where we were last year in the draft.
You're spot on and it's really sad but true that we will finish with a similar record. Until we have a franchise QB everyone can forget the playoffs.

Look at the execution of the offense in the beginning of the Oakland game. There was no indication that the team did not know how to execute what Harbaugh was asking. The problem in the NO and Texas games was the utter inability of the OL to provide pass protection. The run blocking was decent but these guys have not had enough time together in the same system to be able to pass protect the way they must.
Developing the chemistry and communication between the O Linemen takes longer than anything else on offense. So far, we have seen both individuals getting beat one-on-one and we have also seen major breakdowns in communication where DL run through the line virtually untouched.
When the QBs have had time to read the field, they have made good throws (one Oakland exception).

We could have Montana in his prime, but unless the line gave him time, it would be a waste.

Everyone keeps using the "last year we were 4-0" last year we at least somewhat moved the ball and we could block.
This year we look like a highschool football team, one that hasn't won a game in 10 years.
I wonder if solari will last the whole season?
If our Oline comes together I'm sure our QB play will improve, until then.. It looks like it's all up to the defense.

Oakland is terrible, that's why the O looked functional. I wasn't only referencing the QB play, the entire offense needs time to learn the system, that includes the line. I'm not saying I think it will or won't vastly improve, but anyone who thinks a team will install a new system and do well at it in a month or less is crazy.

Regardless of who/what you blame, the facts are that we have been completely inept. The reality is that we have not upgraded in any significant way at QB or Oline, and are maybe a little better at WR if Edwards has a good season and Crabs can stay healthy.
Combine that with learning a new scheme, no real off-season and a HC with no NFL coaching experience, and it is going to be a bumpy ride. Regardless of which you think is the main cause, all will combine to make this a potentially ugly season if something doesn't change and change quickly.
And odds are it wont. We didn't upgrade our talent and it will take time for both our coach and our team to really know what they are doing.
Stats as a whole may not matter. Certainly winning or losing in the preseason doesn't matter. But the fact that we have looked inept at every level and wouldn't have any offensive TDs if not for a couple of rushing TDs scored by our 2nd/3rd stringers against the Raiders, means something isn't going right.
You can discount things for this reason, that reason and keep turning a blind eye. But it's not like we've lost close games and look like we need minor adjustments. We have been inept at virtually every level of play, except against another terrible team.
We may be slightly better with all the 1s and real game planning, but it sure doesn't look like we will be better than last year. We will be lucky to be as good.
Maybe by halfway through the season, hopefully the coach and team can "get it" and determine who really has the skills to play in this system, but it could be a very rocky road to start the season.
We do not look remotely prepared to compete with the better teams in the NFL.

I agree it takes time to fully install a system but the OL pass protection does NOT take a long time. These guys, while new to Harbaugh, had a full year last season to work out their communication but have not done it well.
As to Oakland, their DL is very good. Tommie Kelly had a very good year last year and Richard Seymour is one of the best in the league. The other guys are not so bad either.

Stop lying to yourself. TJack is able to move the ball and score. How about our starting QB? Poor bust cant even drop back with out getting sacked.

You forgot the "the lockout" excuse. Since you know, the rest of the league didn't go through a lockout and it was the only 49ers. Even teams with new coaches are looking a lot more competent.

And some posters wonder why other posters feel we have one of the worst QB situations in the league. Its not just the OL...our QBs aren't very good.

No its the line, WRs, coaches and the wind at Candlestick.
