Before the lockout was over, I thought we might make it. The rams, the seacocks and the cards (kind of) all got better.
We so far have gotten worse, even if Harbaugh was Walsh reincarnated, I don't think he could get gold from this lead we have as a player base.

Playing aggressive D and solid O this team may be in the playoffs. They do not need to spend all their money on a top FA, just pick up a few solid pieces to fit in so that rookies aren't starting unless they earn it.
The OLine was a disaster last year so how can it be worse just by losing a center who has one injury free season under his belt? I see Iupati and Davis maturing, Rachal either maturing or being replaced, and hopefully Staley being healthy. Boone is back and improved and there are several players to compete at Center--Wragge, Snyder and several rookies.
The DBs were ineffective last year but was that scheme, lack of pass rush or lack of ability? Would like to see a decent FA or two but the coaches may be able to develop the young guys. Don't forget how well Lott, Wright and Williamson did with Hicks in their rookie year (of course--they had Seifert as a DB coach).
I see a race between two old competitors: Harbaugh and whats-his-name in Seattle.

We gotta lose at least one game. 4-0 in preseason is a bad omen.

I don't get all the damn drama queens running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I am glad we didn't break the bank for Nnamdi, I would have rather had Joseph personally. it is not the end of the world though. I am just surprised at the amount of crying I have seen the past couple of days.
There are better centers than we had still out there, if we can get a decent CB and resign the rest of our guys and find a receiver to get us through till Crabtree is back, we have a chance to win some games this year. And if we end up sucking this year, at least we can have a shot at Luck.
I just hope Jim Harbaugh is ready for the job he has ahead of him.

No, but that has nothing to do with what's happened in the last week. We don't have a franchise QB and that's really all that matters.
