Drew Brees, Larry Fitz, etc, are at their teams workouts leading by example. They have nothing to prove yet they are still there. Davis can get a pass but Crabs can't? Doesn't matter, if you criticize Crabs, Davis can get some of it too

VD work habbit has never been in question, He's built like willis but he plays tightend lol Crabtree's has actually by davis.
Has Crabtree's?
after the past 3 years this question has been answered
Complete nonsense. He held out one offseason and was injured the next. You really think Crabs got this far without hard work? Give your head a shake. He has never been called out by a coach or player about his work ethic.
vernon called him out last year
his injury wasnt even serious
And the funny thing is Sing was quotes as saying this:
"I think Crabtree continues to really carry himself well," Singletary said. "He works his tail off and is getting the work done that he needs to get done. So, I think Michael Crabtree has had a good OTA, a good minicamp."

Quote:
Mike Singletary had to break up, then moderate Davis’ loud, animated spat with Crabtree during Wednesday’s 49ers walk-through.
And while Singletary wouldn’t reveal what initiated the argument, there clearly is a team-wide frustration over Crabtree’s nearly invisible practice and exhibition-game presence.
Davis, too, has missed some time this summer, due to a minor injury, but he takes his work and his leadership role rabidly.
“(Davis is) one of the captains,” Singletary said. “He did the right thing but he did it the wrong way….
What does any of that have to do with work ethic? Not playing when you're hurt means you have poor work ethic? And funny how the guy who's the captain on offense....the guy you're defending is nowhere to be seen.

That's what I'm saying that crabtrees injury must've been nothing if Vernon called him out and singeltary said he did the right thing
And Vernon yes I'm dissappinted he's not here but he doesn't have a bad connection with smith(124 rating together) and Vernon has gone to the probowl and toed the positional NFL TE touchdown record

Don't get me wrong, I am not completely bashing Vernon Davis for this.
I just don't think he is anywhere near perfect, and I would have thought he would want to be practicing some of the new plays, seeing as it is an entirely different offence that what he has been in the last few years.
Yes him and Smith had chemistry, but it's not like they were completely in sync at all times. At the very least I'd like to see him working on his ball catching skills. While greatly improved, there are still alot of balls that seems to bounce of his chest or facemask.

who cares if VD has a 124 rating along with smith, If vernon is a captain and he's not showing up for "practice" why should the rest of the players show up???

But I thought "connection" didn't matter? Weren't many of you calling Troy trash and discounting OTA's, training camp and preseason?
Also, who gives a bleep if Vernon has chemistry with Alex. Drew frigging Brees is out there with his guys and they have more chemistry with him than Vernon does with Alex.
It's just another attempt at crapping on Crabtree for no reason. Some fans can't let the holdout thing go.

Who cares if players are going to these workouts or not? NFL experts are questioning whether or not these player led workouts are beneficial or not.

It would then be called Vernon run practices. Can't mess with that.

umm i would wager they do. i don't think it is coincidence that manning and the colts have the best offense, manning and his WR workouts constantly. and players may not come in in football shape but hey will be closer and not have as steep a curve.

1) PLayers can come in football shape without going to player run workouts.
2) You are talking about Peyton Manning. The master of the offense the Colts run. Someone who could recite the playbook in his sleep. That guys, working with his team on the system he knows.
Now lets compare #2 to our situation. They have one of the best QBs in NFL history practicing an offense that he knows. We have an underachieving quarterback practicing complex offense which he is attempting to learn on his own on the fly.
I dont care if you like Alex or not, you HAVE to admit that there is plenty of reason (aside from conditioning) to suspect that these workouts could be more harmful than beneficial.

ow can they be harmfuL?
and at one time manning was not the best, he became the best. and while they may not be able to master the playbook, they can get the timing down on the basic routes.
