That wasn't an overthrown pass. Not only did Norris not run his full route, he dropped it.

the one play was hiring Singletary
he was hired THIS SEASON???
no but his hire did have an affect on this season did it not?
then you can say Nolan's hire had an affect on this season with the Draft of Alex Smith and the hire of Mike Singletary as his linebackers coach/assistant head coach

Okay!
Nate Clements fumble has my vote though. I don't think I've ever facepalmed so hard in my life. Not to mention I was with my best friend who's a Falcon's fan. FML.

yes it's called the butterfly affect. There really isn't one single play that ruined the season but rather a series of events that caused for this pathetic attempt at football. The only key thing is it all started with coaching.

I facepalmed pretty hard when Clements ran into that one STL receiver this past weekend. I could only smile after that

I was at work during the game. First game all season I didn't see (though I did catch Alex's first series and thereon out). And I had been leaving work early all year to catch the games. I didn't feel like it this week. It was that bad of a PI, huh?

Yes it was. Reggie Smith (I think it was him) was in perfect position to pick the ball off, which he did. The receiver had a very little chance to come back for the ball but Clements hit him anyway and drew the penalty. Ratard

You everplay catch with a kid and right when you grow the ball he hesitates and stops running his route, that's what Norris did, hesitate.

that you could say "You know, maybe if that one play didn't happen our entire season could have been different"?
Am I missing any?
