How could you not be aware of it?
It was on every fish wrapper and television screen across the country. From ESPN to Fox.
Funny that they still lost, but this clearly shows that the practice is still being used and since these guys are exPats that club is probably still doing it.
Far as I'm concerned that whole club is full of cheats.
I think that it's hilarious that they still lost but they should have won that game. Only reason they didn't was cause we had a nobody under Center and they had no film on him... nothing from an actual 49er game anyway.

Cause that's probably not how it went down. We would have heard something MUCH earlier if that's how it went down. From what I gather the man is even still part of the Broncos staff. I could be wrong, but even if I am $50k is nothing. Considering that this has happened before.
Or maybe the league just decided to lower the fines since Belicheat can't afford decent game day attire and they didn't want that to happen to McDaniels thinking one slob on the sidelines is enough.

Adam Schefter reports on the Broncos apologizing to the 49ers
the highlight of the article is this gem:
"their [the 49ers] offense is not highly sophisticated to where videotapes of a practice could help another team all that much"
haha what a joke that the whole NFL agrees on this
This is awesome.
We should get their first round pick or something for insulting us after cheating, though. Hmmm... I'll take Lloyd back.
Why would you want him back? Sullivan would just play him on the bench. Lloyd's practice habits weren't all that. He just made some sick grabs and on this team that gets you buried in the depth chart.

I'm willing to bet that's not how it went down. They did fire the video director guy and now we know the reason mcdaniels was fined was because he waited almost 2 weeks to say anything. That zaps his credibility for claiming he never viewed the tape when considering he's been involved in this before.
I don't understand how the nfl determines fines. Like you said, that's a fraction of what the pats were fined and mcdaniels was in NE for that situation too. If anything, the fine should have been more.

Could be, but I don't buy that McDaniels waited too long. I would buy that he viewed it, someone from their glory days caught wind of it and ratted him out. As much as I dislike Elway, I could see him being offended and taking the back channel approach. I'm not saying this is how it all went down, but could you imagine any of our greats sitting still for cheating? I don't. Maybe that's naiveté on my part but I just don't see that. Or maybe it was so common place to tape other teams that it was a friendly chat in a bar gone south.

McDaniels DID NOT report it to the NFL, at least not promptly, thus the fine.
it's the last line of the article in the link; also in the video

What I don't understand is the previous Pats videotape incident cost them a first round pick and....
wait for it... $750,000!
Why when it happens vs. the 49ers its $50,000?
And, oh by the way, McDaniels was with the Pats at the time of the previous videotape scandal.
Quote from Jason Cole: "So let’s get this straight: Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison makes a split-second move in a game that results in a $75,000 fine (and more fines after that). Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos, a team with repeat violations of the NFL’s salary cap, and coach Josh McDaniels, who was a member of the last team to commit a major off-field violation of competitive rules, get docked $50,000 each after the team fails to report a violation for more than a week."

Further proof the league is biased against the 9ers. We see it week in and week out with the Zebras one sided penalties(we get flagged for the same things our Opponents get away with all game long) and we see it when the Jets violate rules regarding our players etc.
I'm fed up with Goodell and the League and have been for a long time. I used to watch every game shown on Sundays. Now I only watch one and pay attention to the standings. Sure I catch them occasionally especially when I'm waiting for our game to air, but the NFL kind of reminds me of Apple back in its days of us against them when the Macintosh group would infight with the Apple II group.
I hope Goodell gets run over by a Subway train in New York. I hate that guy.

King: League won’t reopen Spygate I based on McDaniels’ comments to staff
Posted by Mike Florio on November 28, 2010, 8:10 PM EST
Jay Glazer of FOX reported earlier today that Broncos coach Josh McDaniels explained to his staff on Friday the difference between the recent videotaping of a 49ers practice by a rogue (supposedly) employee and the cheating in which his former employer, the Patriots, engaged.
“That was practiced, that was coached, that was worked on,” McDaniels said, according to Glazer.
The Patriots have opted not to respond. Peter King of NBC’s Football Night in America reported earlier tonight that the Patriots had no comment.
And the league isn’t concerned about the alleged remark by McDaniels. Per King, the league won’t be re-opening Spygate I.
In tomorrow’s Week 12 Monday 10-pack, we’ll explain why perhaps the league should.
UPDATE: More on McDaniels’ troubles:

you can thank the hatred that Goodell has for the 49ers for that. If I were the Yorks I would be demanding draft picks.

If I were the Yorks I would be threatening and investigation for impropriety on the part of the League.
To date we've been penalized for subverting the Cap(although we just worked the loopholes) and lost quite a few picks and were fined quite heavily. We got busted for tampering contacting a Player's agent to guage his willingness to come to the team AFTER we left a message to the Bears giving them a heads up(per League rules) and that's about it.
The League has had NUMEROUS Cap violations in the last decade(Washington, Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh AND Philly) not doing anything about it. Videogate. Clear offiating violations (Seattle v. Pittsburgh is the biggest travesty in the history of the Super Bowl) Tampering by the Jets and now once again we come full circle to Videogate which was perpetrated by an ExPat Coach.
Nobody can tell me that the league is unbiased. They consistently tap the offending teams on the wrist if it's perpetrated against us.
I would DEFINITELY be calling up Goodell intimating that I'm calling for an investigation. There is no way in hell this should be going on. I'm tired of it. I hate that our team loses, but I can handle it when it's a fair competition. There is nothing fair about the NFL today that's for sure.

It kills me to read the comments on mainstream websites about this.
You have to be either a homer, or downright delusional to think that:
1) Teams would continue to tape walkthroughs if there was really no benefit to it.
2) Teams would continue attempting to conceal that they're taping walkthroughs, if there was no real benefit to it.
Just because some fans can't wrap their mind around the reasons why, doesn't mean reasons don't exist.
