I sincerely hope he experiences what Walter Payton got to finally experience, a career mostly spent on a sub-par team that finally made it to the Super Bowl and won it.

Two years ago he was my favorite player in the league. Now this coaching staff has made me cringe every time he has the ball.

Stephen Jackson's career has been more of a waste.

I am not going to compare Frank Gore to Roger Craig--Craig was the best Niner running back I have seen play---he ran so hard--high leg kick---he almost always got positive yards--and his receiving skills were better than Gores.
I like Frank a lot---but I don't think he is HOF.
Stats can be misleading.

It might be mortal sin to even suggest as much....
But Frank's best days might be behind him.
He's taken a God Awful amount of punishment as the only offensive threat on this team.

Gore is my favorite player and I would be happy to see him traded to a team like the patriots so he could get a chance to win a championship.

IMO opinion, Frank is the best RB this team has ever seen. He's better than Craig. He's better than Hearst. He's better than Perry. He's better than Watters (by alot).
What sucks the most about this is the "Barry Sanders" syndrome. This team has never been able to actually take advantage of that fact and get it together. My fear is that by the time this team gets a real OC with a real HC and a real QB, Franks best days will be behind him.
I hope I'm wrong, but RBs don't last that long. :-(
I've been worried about this for the last few years. I worry that Frank is going to go the way of Joe "the Jet" Perry great personal production, but little team production. There is still some time and hope leftto avoid this, but they are running out of it.

This could be true... we may wear him out this season.
I haven't seen any signs of him losing a step this year, though.
If I start to see something different, then I'll worry.
Until then... it's all on the coaching and the blocking.
Gore > All
DISCLAIMER: I am not objective when it comes to Frank Gore. I am willing to admit that I am a total fanboi. That doesn't make me wrong, though.

He's lost a step, definitely. The rate at which he breaks long runs has declined dramatically. He's still quality though, but he needs to be used properly. Forcefeeding him only worked in his second year.

True, but it just burns me up most with Frank. a RBs career is soooo short and he plays sooooo hard.
I just hope he can stay healthy long enough to see this team succeed.
Frank Gore first playoff game would be amazing to watch hopefully we can get a qb, head coach and oc and gm all in one off season. even a speed wr.
