I know. I felt bad for him too. Like his whole life was flashing before his eyes on national television. Not to mention the humiliation of having 65,000 rabid fans bearing the brunt of 8 years of frustration on you. The easy thing to do would be to sit down, cover your head with the towel and let Carr go out.
You only see that kind of heat on WWE programming.

Smith plays better in the hurry up offense. Why haven't we used it in the beginning or the middle of the game?

The crowd can go to hell. They put it all on Smith, as if he's the only problem and the focus of the team, when in reality this team was built supposedly on a shutdown D and strong running game. Gore and the utterly failing defense get virtually no blame whatsoever. Among RBs averaging 15+ carries a game, Gore has a worse yards per rush than every RB in the league except Carnell Williams. He has fumbled 4 times, more than any RB and all but a handful of QBs. Our bend-and-break D can't stop anybody in a key situation. They made Kolb and a banged-up McCoy look like Montana and Craig.
Yeah, I'm disappointed in Smith's start and he has to play better but he is far from this team's biggest problem. Yet from the fans and media you'd think he's the worst player we've ever had. It's laughable.

I am too, but I was impressed at how Smith handled it. He didn't get under a rock and hide, though he did need Vernon to help him find his balls and tell Sing to keep him in. Once he got back on the field, he did well overall. He just needs to demonstrate that he can do that consistently, but it might be too late.
You are the best Smith critic on this forum. Rational, smart, and fair.
Good job.
