David Carr is probably better. Troy Smith could be better as well.
C'mon man, have you seen Carr play? He is slow to react, slow to make decisions, and doesn't make a lot of smart decisions. He is similar to Alex but worse.
This is where Singletary really screwed up. He didn't have a back-up plan. He choose a back-up who he knew couldn't really challenge Alex Smith.
Yet, somehow David's managed to put up better stats on a worse team...
Fact is he sucks; but, he's just not as bad as Alex is and gives us a better shot of salvaging the season.
carr had andre johnson to throw to for a while and he would grab anything within a ten foot radius of him. smiths receivers have always needed the ball in their hands while only halfway extending their arms so they wont strain themselves.
LOL... It's funny how these receivers production drops so much when they get here and have Alex as a QB. What's funnier is when the go somewhere else and then look like pro-bowlers again...
I guess what I'm saying is that I don't buy it... You don't go through 10-15 receivers and not find one that can catch. Alex has been too inconsistent to place the ball well enough so that we can have a 1000 yard wide receiver.
blame the WR's not being able to catch on the coaching staff. Sullivan hasn't developed a single receiver since he has been here and it seems as though all of them regress under Sullivan. I have wanted him fired for a few years now.
Yeah, I'm not huge on Sullivan either; but, when you bring in guys that already know the position but they look like crap with Alex throwing to em, I start to question the QB not the coach...
They did the same thing with every QB we had. It is a coaching problem. Sullivan must be telling these guys NOT to go up and get the ball. He is probably saying something like "just run, close your eyes and wait for it to fall in your hands"
You mean we acquired QB's who started in the NFL and at one point were near top 10 NFL QB's similar to some of the receivers we acquired? Those QB's also went onto other teams and still had success like some those receivers we acquired?
LOL... I do remember JTO having a high completion % too bad we cant count those passes he threw to the other team... Joking aside, he had a pretty good connection to Isac Bruce that Smith could never get going.
2007 and 2008 Shaun Hill looked pretty decent; but again, I'm comparing him to Smith and JTO. So, we just have to take it for what it's worth.
Fact is that we haven't brought in any QB with talent in 6 years. Every player, that isn't named Alex Smith, that starts to show signs of improvement gets shipped off and replaced with another nobody... But, now we have a player that's better than Alex; unfortunately, Sing won't let him see the field. So, we have no clue just how much better our team would be with Carr; therefore, we have to move forward with the assumption that Alex can and will get better or get booted. Eventually.....
