Despite loosing another nailbiter there were actually some great performances:
1) Crabtree- his best game of the year so far got open and got huge completions.
2) Offense- did a solid job of converting 3rd downs. (Despite Smith sucking on 2 horrid plays costing us 6-14 points)
3) Goldson- The best game I have seen from him this year, really stepped up in the wake of chaos with the whole Lewis situation.
4) Haralson- provided great pressure and had a big sack and a hit for a loss of 3.
5) Clements- Had the best game in a very long time, despite absolutley costing us the game at the end. (All he had to do was fall down and we have a great road win).
I just still wonder why Westbrook gets no playing time??

You what's sad? Patrick Willis has been non-existent. If he doesn't watch out he's not even gonna be in the Pro Bowl (since Urlacher and London Fletcher are playing at the top of their game right now).

Considering it was Mays first game, I thought he played really well. Clements was average since he had some great plays, but also some stinkers... I would agree with your other assessments

Gore played GREAT today. He saves Smith more than any other receiver on offense, and moves the chains.
Clements was amazing today. I don't blame the loss on him. When the strength of your team, the defense, can't stop an opposing offense from their 10-yard line with a minute left to play, something's wrong.
Westbrook is still relatively new to the team and we haven't figured out how to use him yet. It's unsurprising, especially with a new offensive coordinator. I'd expect him to contribute (if he ever does. I don't think he will make a huge impact for us this year) after the bye week.

You're kidding re: Goldson right? Worst play I've seen from a safety in a long time. We were ABUSED in the middle of the field all day and he didn't make one single pass defense...esp. on constant 3rd and longs at the end of the game (see also, Saints game)

Yup. And don't forget his over celebrating when he got the big hit on Turner who had just picked up a first down. Really? you're going to celebrate a hit when the back picks up the first down. what a jackass.

Agree with this... I wonder how many of the 104 White had Goldson gave up? Nate actually did pretty good except for that last rookie play. I do remember one 13 or so yarder to White and the Tony G. TD where Tony basically blocked him from getting to the WR. I think that could have been called a penalty. (can't block until WR catches ball)
The rest of the points from the OP I would say are right though.
Edit: Who blocked the punt? Was it Adams, Mays?

With victories + moral victories we are 2 - 2. Two close and hard fought battles = 2 wins in the ownership column.
