No, I'm not starting another, "Who's your favorite player (49er)" thread. There has been too many of them over the past few years and the same names always come up: Willis, Davis, Gore, and as of late, some votes for Crabtree.
What about the other guys? Guys who leave just as much blood and sweat out there on the field as the aforementioned favorites but talent levels are over-shadowed by the big-3 or 4.
My honorable mention goes to Delanie Walker. When he was drafted, he was scouted as Best small College WR prospect from Cental Missouri. A 242 pound WR with great YAC ability. Walker has turned into a great Tight end for us. He runs good routes, works very hard at his game and as advertised, has great YAC ability. In 2008 the Niners knew what they had in him and signed him to a contract extension through 2012. IMO, Walker is a play-maker and is more dangerous with the ball in his hands then Davis. Note: I said with the ball in his hands.
