I like it...given he's coming off an injury, a 1-yr contract is appropriate. If he does well, they sign him to a longer term contract...he's got arguably 5 good years ahead of him if he stays reasonably healthy. Could spell the end of Manny...I'm thinking Briggs, Haralson, Brooks and now LaBoy in the pass rush rotation. Might help pave the way for Brandon Spikes as Takeo's eventual replacement...understand they think McKillop's better suited for the Mike than Ted. Re-signing Wilhelm was key...it'll give whomever they draft time to understudy.

I would rather see Haralson gone than Manny. I think Manny gives us flexibility in coverage.

Should be a good pickup if he is healthy. The Dolphins and Patriots probably wouldn't want him if he wasn't any good. He's only 28, has had 3.5 sacks twice, 6, 6.5 and 4 in 08. Not bad considering in 67 games and only started 32 of them. 23.5 sacks in 32 starts is good. Not a whole lot of tackles but seems more like a pass rush specialist. Should be added depth to the OLB rotation so probably no Morgan/Graham/Kindle/Hughes.
Did he play OLB for the Cards in the 3-4?

He never tested positive but his forehead sure looks like he has used the juice.

Someone said their friend at Hawaii or something said he was, but I went to high school with him and he was big then and had the big forehead already. He doesn't look drastically different than he did in high school, just older.

He spun his way to 10 sacks last year

Good low risk signing that didn't cost alot and gives the Niners another veteran 3-4 OLB who can rush the passer to compete in training camp. I like it.
