meh. I liked Hill as a backup. He seemed well-liked by the players and was competent enough to fill in, and the fact that we were clearly not going to consider him as a starter was, to me, a plus, because it meant that Smith could have a year of being the undisputed starter and we could have seen if he would really take advantage.

but it was also clear that Hill had no future with the team, and I guess that Carr gives us an extra option in 2011 if Smith stinks it up this year.

again: meh. I'm ambivalent, but I'm assuming Carr will be NT's newest favorite player.
