TRADING FOR JOSHUA CRIBBS

Everyone knows the Niners lack a game breaker on their roster. I think the Niners should make a strong bid in trading for Joshua Cribbs. He would solidify a poor return game and would help out the offence with better field position. And he could be used in some package plays for the offence too(but don't change him to WR like Hester).

I would give up the 3rd round pick(#80) and maybe even throw in 6th round pick if needed.

What do u guys think? What would you be willing to trade? Or maybe u guys think someone else would be a better fit?

I don't have a link but I know I read somewhere that Holmgren and Cribbs people have been talking and making progress. I think Cribbs even backed off his public statements a bit. He's under contract so the Browns really hold all of the leverage unless he really wants to sit out the whole year. What if it took a 2nd and a 4th to get him plus you would then have to give him a new contract? There would also be the risk that he might become Devin Hester who exploded on the NFL but has not done much in returns the last 2 years.

Obviously the 49ers need to get better in their return game but it really could not get any worse, especially on punt returns. If Cribbs was a FA and it was just a matter of signing him to a contract, then the 49ers should really push to get him. But, since they would have to give up draft picks plus sign him to a new contract, they should tread very carefully, especially when the draft seems to have a number of players that could contribute on returns immediately.
