I keep hearing all this stuff about this stadium. However I have never heard anything about who the F is going to pay for it to get built.

Anybody have any information, because I doubt the Yorks wonna spend that kind of cash right now.

Quote:
How will the stadium be financed?
Under our agreement, over 90 percent of the cost of the stadium would be financed by the team, the NFL and from Stadium Authority revenues generated by the project, such as naming rights. The remaining cost would come from an investment from local hotels near the stadium site, and a capped investment by the City of Santa Clara of $79 million with no new taxes or costs to local residents and no use of general fund money.

Link . . . for what it's worth
I live with in the 2.5 mile radius of the new proposed Santa Clara stadium.
Will my property go up in value? We will have to wait until after the vote to find out.

"Santa Clara County Realtors Endorse Measure J
Santa Clarans for Economic Progress are proud to announce that the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors has formally endorsed a YES vote on Measure J.

In announcing the endorsement, 2010 SCCAOR President Karl Lee said, “The decision by the 49ers to make Santa Clara their home is a testament to the growing vitality of the South Bay. We look forward to the positive impact that the 49ers will bring not only to the City of Santa Clara but to Santa Clara County as a whole.”

The realtors believe one major impact will be increased property values in the North Bayshore area surrounding the proposed stadium site. A recent report by University of San Diego Professor Charles Tu examined property values around FedEx Field, the home of the Washington Redskins, which opened in Landover, Maryland, in 1997.

Because Landover and Santa Clara are both suburban cities bordering on major metropolitan areas (Washington, DC, and San Jose, respectively), FedEx Field presents an ideal model for studying the possible affects of a new stadium in Santa Clara. If the results in Landover are any indication, home owners in the North Bayshore area should be excited about what the stadium project would mean for their property values.

Tu’s report presents a thorough analysis of available data and demonstrates how property values in the area around FedEx Field significantly improved both during and after construction. His study found that the closer a home was to the new stadium, the greater the price improvement, with homes within a 2.5-mile radius showing the sharpest increases.

Similar improvements have been observed in the neighborhoods surrounding a pair of recently constructed local sports venues: AT&T Park in San Francisco and HP Pavilion in San Jose. Both of these projects have dramatically improved the viability of their respective communities by spurring both residential and commercial development. Over 17 years in operation, HP Pavilion has also had a direct and positive impact on existing businesses in Downtown San Jose.

The Santa Clara County Association of Realtors expects a Santa Clara stadium to trigger similar development in the North Bayshore area, specifically in and around Santa Clara’s “entertainment corridor” — including the Great America theme park and the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Yeah well, if my seats went to $149 from $85 what are the psl's going to cost. Front office can ki$$ my a$$, someone is going to have to give me tix for me to go. I don't live in the Bay area anymore so it's easy to say, but still... I am SO fortunate to have been at the Stick for the entire run of greatness the Niners had and paid from $60 to &85 for my seats and away games the entire time. $hit, now 1 seat at one game is $149, the very same I paid before I owned my seats for the NFC Champ game with the Rams! Less maybe..

I feel sorry for anyone going to these games IF they own great seats. Screw the new stadium. The Stick forever...

I remember hearing a Larry Ellison quote " If I bought this team, The shovel would break ground the next day for the new stadium". There should be some pressure by the NFL to update or rebuild this outdated candlestick park, a baseball park, to meet modern standards. If the Yorks wont do it, then they should step aside for someone who can. Because here in California, your basically on your own, as an owner, to fund this thing.
