No...bad dj...Alex been in a war with his head coach B4. He will not do that again....even if he's right.
There may come a time soon where he is going to have to decide if he wants his teammates to trust him as the vocal leader & represent their concerns to the coaches, or be seen by his teammates as just a guy earning his check, not wanting to make waves. If they lose many more games they way they have, I woudln't be surprised to see the offensive squad start having dissent towards the defensive minded head coach. Does Smith want to go down with a sinking ship, and be praised "for being a game manager" by the coaches? Or does he want to tell off the captain of the sinking ship & demand to take the wheel from him?
Everyone looks back to when Steve Young went off on Siefert in the Philly game as the moment he totally owned the offense. It wasn't during a win, but a very bad loss when he asserted his dominance. I think the leader on the field can only lead if he is a cocky SOB that is not afraid of confronting those in charge, and saying, "Look here. This is what we do well. This is what we need to do. We can't do the other thing. Got it?"
Or maybe he is just too much of a nice guy to be a real leader. Real leaders are quite often not seen as nice guys, becuase the role sometimes requires conflict, and to assert dominance. If you are afraid of conflict, you can't lead.
