I have been wondering about this for a while. When I see the Niners of today, I see an inferior team compared to the glory day Niners that followed the Joe Thomas/O.J. Simpson fiasco. I see a team today that has many miles to go if they are ever to win a Superbowl. I think this, in part, is why I am so critical of the current team and especially the GM. Some Zoners compare them to the Erikson/Donahue disaster and yet others to the days of Mooch. Who do you compare them to?

2007 Cardinals
1995 Patriots
Both teams made it to the Super Bowl the following year, but they had to go through some rough times first. I feel this team right now is on the verge of getting over that final hump.
