The last two INTs are absolutely Smith's fault. Towards the end of the game in the 4th, qb must have discipline to be careful and conservative in their decision. Smith went Farve crazy.

IMO he does have the "it" factor just not at the right time...the last 2 weeks hes driven our team downfield in the 2 min for a TD before halftime...he just needs to learn to stay poised under pressure...if we fix the o-line i think alex will be good not great...theres another QB that alot of people wish we drafted over alex having the same problem this year. the guys started 2 games in the last 2 years dont give up yet. everyone was on the bandwagon til this game. now he sucks again. when he beats the bears on thursday everyone will be back on

I can care less about stats.....Alex played well, but HE STILL HAS LOTS TO LEARN. I pray he understands this to & learns from it. He can be the answer at QB but it's ALL ON HIM. YES HIS O-LINE SUCKS, YES JOSH MORGAN LET THE BALL HIT HIT HANDS - NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE
He's the QB & it starts with him.
He's the QB & it starts with him.

Multiple turnovers, especially late in the game when you still have a chance is worse than what the stats show.
Has there ever been a game where Alex Smith HASN'T turned over the ball?
I'm curious to see what he'll do against an angry Bears team and then playing in the Frozen Tundra in a very hostile environment.
... and yes ... I'm preparing myself for more Alexcusessesssssssss!
Well if it makes you feel any better, we beat the Bears the last two times they were here.
WHEW! That makes me fell soooo much better!

yeah but the Bears just got Blown Out and embarrassed at home and left the field to BOOs.....after getting punked by the Cards....hell Tommy Harris lost his cool in the game and got perfect side control on one of their linemen and went all UFC.
I think they are pretty pissed right now......and Lovie is a good HC....hopefully just one more week, Lovie allows Cutler to play like Cutler, before he pulls him in and they go back to being a running team with Cutler playing conservative (which would be trouble for us and other teams.)

Harris got ejected before either team had scored.

This loss was just an example of Alex's 5 year career...Shows promise but makes boneheaded mistakes and has a case of the dropsies. He's had his shot...time to move on.

Smith is doing fine. It's only his 3rd game back and he already looks like an NFL QB of the future. The 2 of the int. he threw were just unlucky. Give him credit. Even when he threw 2 straight int's he still came back with a TD drive at the end to keep them within a miracle of winning the game. The kid's got a fire. Guys he hasnt started for 2 years. He is doing well. Oh and btw he had the highest yardage with 286 of the season and his career. Sounds like he's improving to me. He will learn we just have to be pacient.

NO! to Hill
Yes to Davis. Seasons a wash. We know Alex and Hill blow need to see what can do because we need to draft a QB with one of our picks
Alright Fine AGREED
Time to bring in NATE DAVIS, If all else fails, bring in Andy Lee
LOL, yup Andy Lee. Yea this season is pretty much over, another lossing season, another year missing the playoffs. Nate Davis would be our best bet for the rest of the season. See how he does, then if he isn't our gift from the gods draft a QB next year.

I think Smith felt extra pressure playing in front of the faithful...he seems like a kid who doesn't do well under pressure..somehow he has to deal with that.

How long does he need though, Im tired of people trying to make excuses for Smith. I mean I really wanted him to do good. But we just gotta face it, if coaching staff is scared of opening up the offense because Smith "isnt ready" or he is still "learning" and your a "professional QB who was drafted Number one over all and your not ready THEN GET THE HELL OUT THE LEAGUE and go play in Canada!

Yea, I agree, We shouldnt draft another QB, but what else could we do.thats why I was hoping that san francisco would have made a move on Jay Cutler, MAtt Cassel, jesus christ even Michael Vick this past off season! We need an explosive player like Vick, even though he had been out the league for a couple of years, I think we should have tried to pick him up, just like we should have drafted Rogers instead of Smith, just like we should have NEVER EVER given up Jeff Garcia back in the day.
