We have to take him at face value when he says "We will do whatever it takes to win the game." He even mentioned going to 4 and 5 WR sets. I would bet he and Raye have talked about "opening up the offense".

What if the real problem is Raye is just a crappy play caller? I'm sure he has a ton of knowledge, but his calls just seem to have no rythm and are just drive killers.

A pereft example is that dumb wildcat call in the begining of the game on second down. It has never worked any of the 5 times that he has called it and yet after gaining some positive yards he calls the wildcat whic is the equivelant to burning a down.

Great coordinators have a feel for the game and what the oppenent is doing. Raye on the other hand just seems to be calling random plays. There is no play action, screens or plays to set up big plays.
The examples go on and on of us being able to move the ball in the air only to go right back to a play that is sure to net zero yards. ITs like he can't help himself.

can i get a repost? There is nothing more annoying then taking time to post something only to have it be the last post on the page and passed up immediately.

I did. Call me a homer, and I know I am, but we held them to 18! "If the niners hold a team down to 17, they should win." Isn't that what everyone says? There was no excuse to lose this, and now everyone is high on moral victories like it's 2005 again.

Yea but we lack QB had a 50% completion percentage not gonna get it done with Indy and we were still in the game proud of the team. We need a QB!

Uh, Alex was getting it done today. He was last week too. QB play was not the problem today. It was the play calling plain and simple.

Dude a 50% completion rate is getting it done? Against Indy? You got no chance of winning and that is a fact. I blame this on the players I saw alot of drops, overthrows, turnovers, etc.

19/32 is just a hair under 60%.

That still terrible against indy we were lucky to be in the game bro face the fact. Some of those passes should of been picked especially that overthrown to bruce. He's going to get better but did not get the job done that is all I"m saying. If he had a 65% then we had a chance.

Thats terrible against the #6 pass defense with two very great pass rushers on the edge. And since we are talking about passes that "should of been" picked off then talk about Peyton Manning too. He also threw some that could have went the other way but didn't. Its the NFL son a game of inches

Yup, 19/32 is 59.3%.......Looks like somebody fails at math.

59.4% to be exact your math ain't as good as well... Your missing the point you won't beat a peyton manning team with that kind of percentage.

How many teams do you expect to beat Indy this year? Indy has won like 16 in a row or what ever the stat is, beating a HOF in his house is difficult for any team.
Some of you guys who keep arguing that we where lucky to beat Indy are missing the point. Yes we where lucky Indy didn't bring their A game, but the fact is we could have and should have beaten Indy on this day and we didn't because of the play calling. Thats it. Whether Indy is a better team or not has nothing to do with it really.

exactly you got to play almost perfect football and mistake free and we didn't do that.
I've been saying for a long time he is a fraud. He is singFRAUD. All smoke and mirrors and motivational dropped pants speeches. He cuts our KR / PR and puts one of our best players back to return kicks. Now Nate is out for the season... It all could have been avoided if we had a KR / PR and we did. We cut him so we could save roster spots for TASER guys and BENCHWARMERS.

You explain it me?

This guy is all motivational speeches and RAH, RAH PEP RALLY TIMEOUTS. Where are the X's and O's? Where is the offensive philosophy that suits the personnel we have? What is going on with the personnel management? Cut good players to keep benchwarmers. Play Guards over and over who can't block. Put one of your best players back on kick return duty and get him hurt for the year. This from the self described "will be the greatest coach in history".....

Did it ever occur to you that the reason they didn't play well is because we did? They are a better team than we are and that has everything to do with it, that is why they won. It wasn't like Manning was making mistakes because he was off today, our defense played lights out for most of the day. There are mistakes that need to be corrected, but we do have a really young team, and there will be growing pains. I think we are a lot closer to being able to beat these top teams than we have been in years. Hopefully Turner gets canned in San Diego and we can get him to come back and call plays for us. We are on the way to being one of those top tier teams, we only need a safety, a couple of solid OL, and a pass rusher.

I agree 100% that it was stupid to put Clements as a punt returner and to have cut Rossum. I also hate the offensive play calling. HOWEVER, I also like the fact that Singletary gets this team to play hard on the road. We used to get smoked everytime we were the visiting team. Arizona, Minnesota, Houston, Indy... all great efforts by the team. Can you imagine this team playing against those teams with Mike Nolan as head coach?

Singletary will grow as a coach. I think he will get better. I like the attitude of this team. Better days are ahead.

lol at people freaking out over the Nate Clements injury.

Who is to say that Clements couldn't have gotten hurt playing cornerback?

Injuries happen, quit your whining.

Of course he could have gotten hurt playing corner back. That, afterall, is the postion he got an $80 million dollar contract to play. The point is.. its amazing to me that the team would risk injury to their highest paid player when he isnt anything special as a returner to begin with.

As fari as whining.. please! You are the king of whine on the Warrior thread. I doubt there isnt a poster in here that hasnt whined or b***hed about something at some time. I know I have.. and its usually about Brian Sabean.

Well considering that Minnesota is 7-1 and beat us on a fluke and Indy is undefeated, I would say that our young team did pretty damn well. Would we all like to have won? Of course. So would every other team that has played these elite NFL teams. The Niners are making progress from one of the worst teams in the NFL under Nolan to a team that is a contender under Singletary.

We are 6 - 1 when you count VICTORIES + MORAL VICTORIES in the ownship BOX. Forget 3 - 4. The Minnesota game was close (that's a win). The Houston game we almost came back (an ownership win again). The Indy game we played tough and close (that's a win against the amazing COLTS). The 49ers are really 6 - 1.

If you dont see the progress the team has made in the past year and a half under Singletary then its impossible to debate this with you. Yes, the Niners could easily be 5-2 instead of 3-4 and its frustrating that we didnt win those games. However, I just dont see how you cannot acknowledge that Singletary has done a good job of turning the attitude around and having them at least have a shot and winning games against the elite NFL teams.
