Raise your hand if you were one of the preseason whiners about our pass rush and weak secondary

I thought he did an outstanding job. Bly did a good job in the nickel also.

Defense was awsome today. The line held the run game in check and the secondary kept the WR's in check. The LBs mopped up everything in between.

The pass rush was a big surprise.
That first half was HUGE defensively. We really set the tone from the first snap. It was really fun to watch.
Haralson and Justin Smith palyed very very well. It was also nice to see KB get in on some action and Lawson was ok as well.

I been preaching all though the preseason that they were holding back on the pass rush, because they had some suprises. Well, they sure showed up tonight. Warner never really got comfortable, until the 3rd quarter, but then they kicked back into gear in the 4th...

What a game, it was closer than what it should've been thanks to the O-line and Raye.......but thats for another thread.
Obviously the guys up front played their butts off. The biggest surprise though was RayMac. We all know Haralson and Smith can bring some pressure, but RayMac was right there also. I didn't expect him to make much of an impact seeing as he had ANOTHER knee surgery this off-season. I see alot of people singing Lawson's praises, but he still needs to work on his 1on1 pass rushing moves.
The DBs played a great game, even Roman. Did you see that lick he laid on that fool? Spencer, Bly, and Clements all played great against AZ's pass catchers.

Loving the new attitude on D. Willis already has a good start towards earning another probowl bearth. Spencer showed why he got the starting role at rcb and we can generate pressure *gasp* I suspect Bly, in the nickel role, is going to pay big dividends this year as he can get away with freelancing a bit more.
Gotta love it

KB took and held the double that allowed Smith to move inside and make the sack in the end. KB is coming along.

The niners stepped up against a solid offense today. Good pressure for the most part. When is the last time the defense forced that many field goals? I am glad to see the defense playing well.

I gotta give my props to the entire D, but Patrick Willis' dominance in the middle (and the rest of the field) is freaky scary, and is just ABSOLUTELY the BEST IN THE LEAGUE, hands down.
I can definitely see a top 5 defense forming.
