I've read many "opinions" this offseason regarding Shaun Hill.....vote time!

He is a career 3rd stringer who had to "compete" to beat out Alex Smith. The more he plays the more defenses figure out his many weaknesses. Good example was the 2 games against the pathetic 2-14 Rams last year, the first game he had a 142 rating, the second game a 55. He is the best this team has and that is sad.

As I have stated before, I expect Hill to do fine this year....put up some real good numbers and continue where he left off last year.

if we are predictable on offense then yes, imo Hill and the offense will struggle...as would any QB.

ex. run run Pass.....if we consistently set our self's up with 3rd and longs after running it 2 times.

but I feel Raye will do a good job with our offensive personal.....with Vernon, Gore, Bruce, Morgan, Jason Hill all making plays....thankx to Shaun playing like he has in the past...spreading the ball around, finding the open man....and just moving the chains.

So basically I expect Hill to be the starter all season...unless he gets injured.*knocks on wood*

so what do you feel will happen this year......let this thread be the one where we can all come back to during the season.....state which option you voted for and why. If you feel I should add more options to choose from, let me know.

arm strength dont mean that much. Hill FTW
Hill sucks just watch the Dallas game

which one.....the preseason one where he played half a game....

or the regular season game last year where he went 21-33 300 yards 2TDs 1int for a 100 QB rating?
As I see it, he’s a marginally serviceable QB that’s going to have to do until we can upgrade the position in next year’s draft. Then he’s going to continue being an acceptable QB for the following year while the new QB develops.
Cant we all just get along...

hmm.... 5 pages and no Memphis, backontop, legend8 (although he most likely has 2 accounts)

am I forgetting anyone.

come on fellas, where yall at

yall can't just vote and hide
I voted for continued success. what is there to figure out?????? I think everybody pretty much knows he has a weak arm already. other than that. what does he do differently from other qb's?

Let's see, we have no real offensive coordinator, a stubborn coach who wants to run the ball 60-40, a suspect o-line along with no pass rush and IMO a defense that is not as good as people make it out to be. Throw in a heck of a schedule. Not a formula for success.

So, Hill will have a hard time this season. I wish him the best.

If arm strength is silver, accuracy is gold. He will be fine.

I think he has played fine, and will only get better since he at least has the intangibles, the command of the huddle, and most importantly....... the trust of his teamates. I laugh at people when they say he has reached his limit and can't get any better, when he doesn't even have that much in game experience. Rich Gannon was pretty much garbage his first 10 seasons, but he got better with age (like some of us do), and made his first of 4 pro bowls in his 12th season, won 2 staright probowl MVP awards, won a league MVP award, and took his team to the Superbowl.

Hill will be fine, y'all just sit back and enjoy the show.

That's because it's now time to just STFU, sit back, and see what unfolds. If you need this kind of thread to reassure and validate your opinion, then clearly you're not terribly confident in that opinion... nor should you be.

Sunday, we see... and this might surprise, but I really hope Hill plays well... he is the 49ers starting QB after all.
Hill is a modern day Steve Bono. Short range passing specialist who will throw deep on occasion. The bad news is that he won't prevent defenses from packing 8 or 9 guys in the box which will be effective against Gore and the short passing game. This season he gives the 49ers their best chance of success on offense. He's just a placeholder until next year when Nate Davis is ready for the #1 job.

that doesn't make sense....I would think this thread shows how much I believe in my opinion.....but at the same time, I'm giving other posters who disagree (and some to the extreme as far as calling Shaun names) a chance respond in this thread......BEFORE the season starts.

I think it is the other way around....members who voted in the Poll but who haven't posted are the ones who might not be terribly confident in their opinion

those three are just example of members who have been VERY vocal about Shaun Hill.....I'm surprised they have not posted in this thread.....but I'm 99% sure they voted.

but either way I expect Memphis to post any day now....and maybe backontop.....legend8 on the other hand....haha, well I'm sure he posted already with his alternate (main) account.....but I wonder who he is

so no, it is not time to "STFU" just yet....some other members still have 24 hours to put up.....or I guess, shut up.
These people have already spoken their thoughts on many QB threads... so either you are just not getting it or have a lame fascination with redundancy. So yes, I'm quite sure their voice has been expressed time and again... So yes, I'm quite sure their voice has been expressed time and again...
