Good point. If anything he can give the 49ers corners and WR's tips for a few weeks on how to matchup against the Cards. I do think Green has a chance to make the team but I would say it's only a 10-20 percent chance. I really doubt he beats out Spencer and I do not think he will beat out Hudson although he may be a better pure corner than Hudson by a tad, Hudson can also play both safety spots and he is also a heck of a special teams player.

If he is so good why was Bill Parcells so quick to cut him?

That's a real bad reflection of your coaching staff if they have to do that.

No matter how many tips you try and give on Boldin and Fitzgerald, those two will still catch balls.

Your right but if he just gives our guys one valuable tip that can help us get a turnover that would be worth it. At the end of the day we signed Eric Green because our cornerback depth is really poor, esspecially the 3rd string where the guys do not even belong on a NFL field, pre-season included. Green gives us a solid vetran corner who at least creates some more competition at the CB posistion.

Didn't we try to get him, but he chose the Dolphins over us? If they cut him, with parcells there, then he's probably garbage.
You may be right, good point.
People here said the same thing about Walt Harris. Remember?

People thought Walt Harris was washed up but at least he had a lot of good years before he got here, Eric Green has never really shown he is a good NFL starting corner. Plus Bill Parcells cut Green, he is a good judge of talent, Daniel Synder and Vinny Cerrato are not.

Unless Spencer is hurt, or Brown is simply not going to be able to go anytime soon, I can't see Green making the team.
Most NFL teams carry five CB's, and our 6th CB (emergency CB) is Rossum.
Here's the depth chart for this team:
Clements
Bly
Brown
Spencer
Hudson
Hudson is our number two stud special teamer (after Robinson), and he can play both CB and FS. I don't think he's going anywhere.
P.S. The team really seems to like Spencer, this move does not make any sense at all. I'm sure there is something we don't know at this point.

I see it mostly as veteran insurance specifically on Spencer (to make sure he's all the way back from his injury) and as overall depth given how CBs tend to get nicked pretty easily.

he was signed by the fins this offseason then just got cut.???????????????
Why would we want this guy?????????????
BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!1
The guy got 2yrs 6M for a reason...he's not a bad player, maybe he was just a bad fit in Miami? I'm sure we didn't take a risk finacially why not see what he's got? That's what camp is for.
Dude, logic...in NinerTalk...what are you doing here?
We were interested in this guy all offseason, but not for the price tag he had in mind. He's relatively young, has some upside, and has starting experience. Bring him in and see what he's got. You could do worse with a 4th or 5th CB.

But where did Walt come from?.....YES...the "Buy a championship-Foreskins".....who cant can evaluate or coach players. So...I give more credit to McCloughan and Nolan for bringing Walt in!!!
Green will give us depth at the most, but we have our starters already at at least the first 3 CB spots.

so its the same guy from arizona? he is actually pretty good.
Yeah... he is so good, the Dolphins cut his silly butt
