I don't even know why you guys are trying to call this "Jimmy Raye's Offense." It became pretty damn clear when Sing couldn't find a decent candidate to come run the offense that he had intentions on influencing how things were going to be handled. Raye was, basically, the last choice. He was the only option. We scooped up a guy that hasn't really called a game since he helped get Marty fired in Washington. Yes, that was a long time ago. He has been sleeping on active duty. He was pension material. Shoot, he was past pension material. So, in short, my expectations for Sing's offense really are not that high. I like having Sing around for pre-game pep talks, not running the offense, the defense, or the team.
so what else should we know since it seems like you were in the meeting, when Singletary decided on Raye? Seriously, what else was talked about?

Still no response?
No link?
So this post was just one of those intended to incite and anger the rest of us without any basis in fact?
One posted despite a warning from a mod to "cool it" in this thread?
Uhh, ohhh. Where's LA?

So where's the link to the information about what Singletary said in the meeting, per the original request? We don't want some BS rumor or theory.
Maybe, just maybe, you could first point out where I said there was a "meeting" within my original post. I just do not see it anywhere. If you do find that I indicated that there was a "meeting", if I did write "meeting", then, just maybe, I would feel obligated to provide a link of such meeting. Nice try. This "weed in the flower bed" is well versed on all subjects relating to my 49ers. I know that hurts. That's why I'm #2 in the Niner Talk Super Seven.
No, you were asked to provide a basis for your original statement, in which you seemed to indicate that you were there when Singletary interviewed OC candidates, and also there when he decided to hire Raye.
Fact is, you weren't there and have no basis in fact for your statement. You're just stating your opinion and trying to pass it off as fact, and you got called on it.

I am excited to see the niners this year. I heard raye uses motion as much as martz and turner did. I don't understand why other teams don't use motion more often. It really helps a QB to identify what a defense is going to do especially on early downs.

I haven't read the whole thread, but here's an interesting video and an indication of what we can expect this year. Jimmy Raye calling the plays with Eric Dickerson as the feature back. That Rams team had a dominating running game.

Yo, pader. It's going to be hard to make your point to some people around here when you post a video of an offense from 25 years ago.

I had to reach far back to find Jimmy Raye success stories. Dickerson was freaking amazing and Jimmy did his end to put Dickerson in position. He was ripping up 32 on 3rd and 30. Jimmy certainly isn't conventional and tends to stick to a watering hole until it's bone dry. It's also interesting to see how similar the running plays are to what the 9ers have been running in preseason. The one main difference motion HBack vs Full back.

The stat's pretty amazing given 9ers average a full yard better than the next team (then again, they played against the porous Raiders d-line). I suppose you don't have to pass if you can get 5.3 per carry.

So far it looks like good old fashion smash-mouth football.

I'm really anxious to see how Vernon Davis does this season. I hope he finally has a breakout year! Jimmy Raye's stats as a coach appear to be all over the board. I'm honestly not sure what we're going to see? I do know that future HOFer TE Tony Gonzalez had his best season under Jimmy Raye who was then the OC for the Kansas City Chiefs. Elvis Grbac was the Chiefs starting QB at the time!
