I think some of you guys are being way too hard on Keasey - he's a fantastic athlete and he plays hard; hits the hole hard, but I honestly don't see where he fits on this team.

I agree. I also believe that he could thrive in the right system. If not thrive, then at the minimum, start.

he got laid out because he sucks. he is not physically capable of handling the NFL. he has no physical tools to help him. seriously dont know why they keep him in there to begin with he must kill himself in practice or something . cut the bum already

To make room on the roster for Green, the 49ers released fullback Zak Keasey with an injury settlement. Keasey is expected to miss 8 to 10 weeks with a broken forearm. The 49ers have the option to re-sign Keasey later in the season.

Limited upside, but the type of guy you like to root for.

get out of here ! j/p, but keasey is horrible man. he can't block, run, etc.. he could catch but when he tries to run he'll get knocked and fumble the ball. he's a decent special teams player.

Now that he's been released, does it mean I won't get to hear that annoying Keasey/Dr. Hyver commercial on KNBR 42 times a day?

Keasey is just not the type of FB to compliment how Sing wants to play offense. His blocking is horrible and he is an average runner and pass catcher. He is to his credit a good special teams player but this team cannot keep someone solely for that reason. They reached an injury settlement with him so its possible he could return to the roster after he is all healed up but I would be surprised if they brought him back. I would rather have a FB that will open holes for Gore and Coffee and can pass protect well. Catching the ball and running with it is just a bonus. Im still wondering why the 49ers never went after Lorenzo Neal when he became available.
