Yeah, things are looking good on D. Franklin isn't bad, but throw in a guy like Raji or Brace and I think think we'll really turn the corner. I'm not worried too much about getting a pass rusher. Haralson is pretty good and I we'll surely add to the WILL this offseason. It's starting to come together for us.
that being said, we don't need Suggs.
yeah we dont need pass rushing playmakers
I only said Suggs. I'm pretty sure there's more playmakers out there, cheaper ones too!

I wouldn't call it a huge disappointment. They did manage to finish like 13th in overall def.

We still need a powerful NT and a ballhawk FS. Not to mention a young CB that can take over for Walt Harris. (O and a great pass rusher would be helpful too)

To be top five (Giants level) we'll need to drastically improve our pass rush. Let's hope we can land one or two studs in the draft. We won't sign Suggs or Peppers anyway and I don't think we should. We need to learn how to build within.
Next years draft looks very enticing from the defensive side of the ball. I'm drooling over a few of the names that will likely be available. THAT'S when we'll have a top 5 defense!

i doubt well get him he wants to stay with the ravens and said that he would take a hometown discount
When did he stay he would take a hometown discount? I heard him say he would come back because he likes it there, but I didnt hear about the discount
I heard him say that he didnt say anything about a hometown discount! He said he likes nashville but hes from south carolina...this was on an interview on sirius radio yesterday.

I want us to go after A.Haynesworth, but we might be done with the big FA signings for awhile
I would love Haynesworth, but how awesome would it be if we picked Julius Peppers (who wants out of Carolina and wants to play in a 3-4) and then drafted Raji....our D would be pretty legit.
why would he want to play in a 3-4?
He said he wants to. Not sure why.
Because he feels that the 3-4 will fully utilize all his talents.

maybe he's just too lazy to rush the qb now. he wants to just play the run

I think we are a free safety, a lock down CB, a pass rushing OLB, and a bigger NT away from being a top ten defense. If Soap and Franklin improve, if Balmer proves to be a good pick, if we can get a FS in FA or the draft, and a couple of back up LB we will be in good shape.

I agree with that. I believe when he left the def. was in the mid 20's. It amazes me that they were able to move up that many spots in half of a season. I would asume they were a top 10 def when singeltary took over maybe even top 5-7 to move that many spots.
