Bengals gonna Bengal.

Not sure if this is a reputable source but the team has leverage if this dudes option is to sit out till a future season and become an undrafted free agent.

This would be so freaking dumb, not sure it's correct, he can sit out & enter the 2026 draft, but why would he wants to become a UDFA if he could be in 2027 when he wouldn't get anywhere near what he'll get by signing his rookie deal, and no this type of language isn't uncommon, the 49ers used similar with Reuben Foster, who remember was suspended, & then released, allowing the 49ers to save money when he was on a fully GTD deal, but this is on both sides, there's no reason why the Bengals would start using this language now, & Stewart would get a fully GTD deal, if he were suspended, or arrested then the language, if right one, would void his guarantees, again like Reuben Foster.

Wonder what the 49ers could trade for Stewart? The 49ers fanbase loves players that hold out :)
It appears DJ Humphries signing by the Rams is due to recently extended Tackle Alaric Johnson coming down with Blood clots again and possibly could miss time.

I would really like to know what happened, his agent was the one who tweeted that he & the 49ers agreed to terms, then weeks went by only for some insider saying the tweet was premature and no deal was finalized, idk who's at fault, the player or the agent, or the 49ers, probably the agent, never prematurely tweet that your client agreed to terms with a team and then it doesn't end up happening, it's why I get wary of those generic NFL Rumors, or NFL Insider twitter accounts, so annoying, and the fake Schefter accounts, it's so obvious they're fake, it'd take a moron to not realize it's fake, just look at the username, SMDH.

I bet he signs his deal before the season begins, missing Minicamp, TC, & preseason, meaning he will struggle this season, one side will have to give in, the fact is the Bengals have never done the kind of language they are asking for, while other teams do use that kind of language about voiding guarantees, ultimately he'll sign, if not he'll likely end up going in the 2026 draft, and won't be a 1st rd pick IMO, there's likely gonna be better EDGE rushers available in 2026, and also the Bengals wouldn't be allowed to draft him, if that's still a thing, I remember when Crabtree held out, the report was if he ended up sitting out, he would enter the next years draft and the 49ers wouldn't be allowed to select him.

I wonder if the 49ers told him straight up he had no chance to start and he decided to wait for a chance to start somewhere to come along? I player changing their mind can screw over an agent like that.

Regardless, I'm not upset he's not a 49er.

Yeah, I would just enjoy it if the 49ers offered YGM and a 3rd round pick and the Bengals went for it

Imo I think DJ was holding out for a starting spot and at that point in time I question whether 49ers knew for sure Trent is coming back this year. He stays unsigned till now and then the Rams drop the news about just signed Alaric Jackson having blood clots again ( he was out a number of games in 23 because of blood clots). The article states they signed DJ just to be safe but I wonder if Jackson's Blood clots are worse than what there saying.
Sean McVay just confirmed that Alaric Jackson did not report to today's minicamp due to Blood clots.

Think even after this, they're still expecting him to be ready for the season from what I've heard.

Totally possible but I think DJ was holding out for a starting spot and Jackson missed 9 games in 22 for Blood clots.
