Then they are really dumb. Trey Lance has thrown 445 passes. TOTAL. In his ENTIRE LIFE, including high school. He is as inexperienced as you can possibly get.

People need to calm the f**k down. Despite being so incredibly inexperienced (Jimmy threw more passes in 2019 than Trey has in his entire life), he still is — right now — almost as good as Jimmy is in total. In a year or two he will be very, very good, if he continues his trajectory.
This isn't a pro-Jimmy or Trey angle but how exactly do you define this and come to this conclusion at this stage?
I find it quite alarming we traded the capital we did to draft the most inexperienced qb, maybe of all time, coming in to the draft.
I am baffled as to how one thinks he is as good as Jimmy now.
"Baffled?". Jimmy has thrown 8 ints in camp compared to 3 for Trey despite the fact that Jimmy has played with the 1s and the 2s suck. Jimmy's average pass is usually 5 yards. He's the checkdown king. Lance has thrown several passes over 35 yards with many more TDs than Jimmy. I don't think you want to compare Jimmy as a runner. He was a gunslinger when he arrived and was throwing all over the place. Then he foolishly failed to run out of bounds and blew out his knee. He has never been the same since. Trey is bigger, faster, stronger and apparently smarter. Kyle will soon make him #1.
The only thing Jimmy has over Trey is experience playing at NFL speed. Dude makes Alex look like a deep ball thrower. His type literally won't work anymore. Against GB Wilson looked like the next Rodgers. Guys like Allen and Mahommes and Herbert and eventually Lawrence are going to put up 30 against the best D's. Jimmy won't. That's when he's on the field
Let's not get crazy now.
And for the love of god can we stop overrating preseason play? Wilson looking great in preseason doesn't make him the next Rodgers.
This isn't about Jimmy. It's about Trey and where he's at in his career. We know his physical tools are much better than Jimmy's. But he showed at least so far in game action vs inferior players than the ones he'll be facing most often that he's got things to work on.
Lucky for us it's not regular season yet and he appears to be a quick learner. We've got a game tonight so let's see what he looks like and take it from there.
Jimmy didn't start his career being careless with the football.
