No, he has not. Wilson, Lance, and the OT the Chargers drafted are the last unsigned first round picks.

Then, this may go a while.

Is this guy officially holding out now?

Yes, some say it could drag on into 2023

Sorry I don't follow…Lydia.

yeah mooch has a great track record lol
I was just teasing NY.. but didn't think you would bash mooch now

I mean mooch wasn't anything special...always have a place with 49er fans, but yeah his track record speaks for itself. He's better just talking on NFLN (and even that is just hot air like most of those dudes).

I haven't checked it out, but NN has seemed to drop off lately since David Fucillo left the site in 2019, I like the new guy Kyle Posey, I need to get my account back activated, won't let me login, but and no offense to the WZ, I think NN has better front page, WZ has better forum/comment section, no real forum on NN, might not be there idea, all of SB Nation's websites have same design, just colors different to match teams.

NN IMO has more legit content in regards to film and football knowledge...I'm a fan of Posey, I've DM him a couple times asking about football stuff. He's pretty cool.

WZ for the most part is just opinion columns. Obviously love their forum both have their + and -

So basically what everyone who isn't a Trey Lance homer have been saying since even before being drafted. Got it

So because we don't agree with you that makes us a homer? got it.

Guess Steve Young is a homer too.

Young said those draft day moves revealed the hand of 49ers general manger John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan.

"It's a little bit of a mess, right?" Young told Nevada Sports Net at the American Century Championship. "John and Kyle have spoken as loudly as you possibly can by doing something that's only been done a handful of times in history, to essentially trade the future away for a person that now needs to play and everybody knows it. They couldn't speak any louder to Jimmy that, 'You're not that guy,' but yet here we are. Jimmy's a great guy, so he'll figure out his way through it. If he wasn't, it'd be more complicated, but it's a complicated situation."

"If you told me that a month ago, I'd say, 'Absolutely. No question,'" Young said of Lance being the day one starter. "They've spoken. They have to go forward with their plan. At this point, there's a locker room and as Jimmy sticks around longer, it's going to be more and more complicated, and unfortunately I think that complexity — it could be creative; it could be good — but it also could be toxic. You just don't know."

One is probably waiting on the other.

Yup. We should trade him right now.

They're probably not letting Aaron go until next year, though.

I'm not a Trey Lance homer. I'm a 49ers homer.

I want the guy who gives us the best chance to win to start. If that's Jimmy, let's go. If that's Trey...even better.

Should be the stance every 49ers fan takes. There are pros to each guy starting.

Jimmy starts and odds are he improves his trade value.
Lance starts and it means despite Jimmy's best efforts the coaches thought Lance was good enough to take the job at this stage which bodes VERY well for our QB position for the next 10+ years.

Only question for the coaches will be is where is the line where starting Lance makes sense due to the extra dimension he can bring the offense. I don't think he has to be clearly better than Jimmy to reach that line so the battle will be very interesting to watch.

Good news is I don't think we have to rush Lance. BUT if he's ready then why the hell not start the kid?
A little paraphrasing for those that may be angered for a few hours,...or days...

There are a few issues that usually lead to problems. The biggest is offsets in the contract. Put simply, teams want offsets and players do not. An offset allows teams to reduce how much they owe a player if they cut him and he signs with another team. For example, if the 49ers owe a player $10 million and cut him and he signs with another team for $8 million, an offset would allow the 49ers to owe him only $2 million. If the contract has no offsets, the player collects the full $10 million from the 49ers and the $8 million from their new team.

The Jaguars have no offsets in their contract with No. 1-overall pick Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville typically does not include offset language in contracts, but Lance's agent could point to Lawrence's deal as a reason Lance should have no offsets.

Prolonged absences from training camp have become rare over the last 10 years since the change to the way rookie contracts are structured.
