Deebo, Kittle, Bosa and coming up Aiyuk, are in their primes. By the time Trey is ready to play, the others are gonna past their primes and it's gonna be too be late. The team is built to challenge for a Superbowl now, not 3 yrs from now when an experienced QB finally gets it.. Keep something in mind folks, he has 4 yrs of High school, one yr, I repeat ONE YEAR of college against basically JUCO level competition, it's not like he was competing against the SEC. He started 2 games in the NFL, and that's it. Pete Carroll, Belichick, Raheem Morris, you name it, will eat him alive. I wish the front office had thought this through better.

Well say this is a race thing. I want Trey's play to dismantle any nonsense argument that can be had about our QB position being a constant point of discussion. I see Seattle has a black QB and no one is chirping about them at that position incessantly. KC has a black QB and no one is going on about their position. To me it sure seems like the media has had a bug up their a$$es about our QB position for some time now and I am not sure race has been the sole issue so much as it has been about the team but I am sure for some the race of a QB still plays a part and shame on those folk. As a 49er fan I want my guys to win no matter what race they may be so long as they bleed red and gold. Jimmy was Italian I believe and they were on us about him. Same for Alex Smith and now today they want to make up stuff about our guy who we obviously are in love with before he even plays half a freaking season. I am so ready for Trey to shut up mouths!

Maybe the media is still mad that John and Kyle made fools of them by drafting Trey when they the media were saying that the Niners were picking Mac.

OK, now I get where you are coming from. I guess I have just been used to the media finding a reason to trash our QB situation since Jeff Garcia but you are correct in that this is abnormal the ridiculous takes on Lance already prior to him really getting his shot. We have not really even had the first offseason OTA with him as QB1 and yet already we on the BS. SMH

I think we are in for a surprise because those names you just mentioned don't scare me when we have Kyle with Trey's raw talent. Carroll and Belichick did not hesitate to roll out their rookie QBs upon the NFL and Raheem and his "west coast killers" have been had before with a more limited QB under center for the red and gold. We will unleash what will be essentially a rookie QB next year but he will be one with every elite skill set measurable with the drive and intelligence to match and a team and coach around him that others in his class will envy. This same QB has been in the midst of a playoff run that went as deep as the last 2 games of the season so he knows more intimately than any of us what it takes in today's game to lead men into Lambeau Field and get to the doorstep of the Super Bowl. I have no doubt we can field a formidable team next year with Trey under center

I knew when they were saying that Mac Jones crap that it was either Fields or Lance and honestly I thought it was Fields. It just did not make sense it was Mac when it was obvious we could have had Mac Jones with at the most extreme circumstance a draft day trade up. There was no way that in February 2021 we had to do such an expensive trade up for Mac Jones. That would be a fireable offense from what was obvious to anyone that Mac Jones did not have the talent level to garnish such a trade up that early

That's definitely an issue.

He maybe rawer than hamburger meat, but he's still the best we have right now.

You're confident he can take us to the playoffs then.

If Jimmy can get carried to the playoffs so can Trey.

Why not? He has a lot of skills that Kyle will use to get the best out of him. I don't think playoffs is out of the question at all.

Definitely not out of the question. Wouldn't say that.

Yeah ok…

Just like Lovie Smith talked about how he loved to play against rookie QBs and Trey went out there and shut him up.

It's an absolutely stupid take too insinuate that Trey will need a number of years to turn into a QB who isn't wasting the prime of those players. Trey is raw yes but why act like the guy is a complete disaster out there? He wasn't and he will improve quickly with playing time.

Trey was teaching the offense to upper classmen at NDSU when he was a freshman. He was starting and running a pro style offense at 19. Yes there wasn't a ton of passing but there were numerous NFL level components to that offense which many well more experienced and older QB prospects don't master until a year or two in the NFL.

Yes Trey is raw, but that's the awesome thing about him. Because his floor isn't someone who is going to take a talented roster and make so many mistakes you'll dig them a hole they cannot come out of. The coaches we have dont and won't need to put the game all on him for us to win. If Kyle asks him to throw 35+ times a game then we're in trouble. I doubt very highly that will be the case though. Trey will be just fine and all those guys you mentioned will be thrilled that Trey is our QB.

People have no idea how "raw" he is...people act like it's gonna take him years to play at freaking Jimmy G's level and I call b******t on that. We're gonna continue to win football games based on running and playing good D. SF was 29th in the league in passing attempts this past season...why is that gonna magically change?

Kyle will do the same damn thing he did with Jimmy, call plays that he felt confident in running. Call plays that played to his QBs skill set. The team is good around him and people are complaining about that lol. Fans are weird.

If Rodgers and Brady retire, the nfc is wide open. Rams likely aren't as good and Seahawks are either rebuilding or "running it back" with Wilson to likely not make playoffs.

If we can keep pace with the Rams in the division - I think we can get one of the wildcard spots. I think it'd be tough to win the division, though.
