When Hyder signed with us last year there were probably similar comments. This guy isn't getting paid that much, relatively speaking. Edge rushers don't grow on trees. Some of you (not you fanatical) need to temper your expectations. Depth and edge rushing is a good thing

Perhaps a younger, more athletic Hyder. I'll for sure take that. I think Kocurek and Ryans see something in him.

That's an excellent point. Hyder is at his ceiling. Maybe this guy can take it up another notch with Kocurek.

Seems like a 25-year-old with lots of potential. But 6 mil seems a little pricey for potential. Let's hope they are right about him. clearly, they like him a lot to sign him this early in free agency.

Hyder's signing was mostly greeted with shrugs. I think Kocurek has earned a little benefit of the doubt.

One thing that stands out while I'm watching his tape is the effort and motor. Dude's motor runs hot. That must be one of Kocurek's coveted traits because Hyder is the same way. Unfortunately, this guy isn't close to Hyder as a technician. Hyder is very crafty with his hands; Ebukam barely uses his hands.

I don't think Hyder is coming back but I don't think they're done at edge rusher either. Probably out of the running for one in the first but I expect one to be drafted somewhere in the middle rounds as well as potentially bringing in another overlooked FA once the initial spending frenzy has died down.

I hope so because the 49ers' pass rush is a shell of the 2019 group that led us to the Superbowl. Dee Ford had to be restructured because wasn't going to pass a physical--expect him to miss a ton of games in 201; Kinlaw looks like he's years away from scratching the surface of his potential; Bosa is coming off an ACL; AA is just not good. Pass rush depth is abysmal.

No bueno.

His motor better run hot. He only averages about 20 snaps a game.
