Couldn't match a sixth??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You know Johns gonna come out and say "we like the guys we got here"

Lynch points to these guys:

I though the health issue thing was what would make the Niners jump all over him!

Sure, but the other 3 are valid points. Carolina can afford to extend him, we really can't. And idk how I felt about extending an aging QB coming off an injury, to the kind of money he wants.

Great move for Carolina. I am worried about forking over picks and money for a guy who can't stay healthy. It makes me laugh how everyone is pissed about Verrett and Ford among others, who have injury history. And then clamor to sign guys like Ingram and the likes, who are always hurt.

Different cap situations entirely.

#2 - The Panthers had over $19M in cap space prior to this trade. 49ers had chicken feed. Easy decision.

LOL at 3 and 4.

All they sign and draft are players with health issues. Cmon now.

Also, not thinking CB are never a $$ priority is stupid. Clearly it is, since that's where we're struggling the most.

So is what they're saying is if Verrett had stayed healthy and played well this season, they wouldn't have brought him back on a bigger contract?

Clearly CBs are a priority when we value them so much you're correct. I mean our top CB is a UDFA and our others are a 3rd round project player. A 5th round pick and some old dudes past their prime. As far a Verrett lots of people expected him gone after last year. People were shocked he even came back for as cheap as he did this year. But yeah it's stupid to think we don't value the CB position.

It was a fun few hours thinking we might fill a void. But once the report came out saying the Patriots reached out to trusted teams and he hadn't been moved it became pretty clear we weren't going after him.

C'mon you know better than that. They weren't going after him......Kirkpatrick, Johnson, and Skrine....we are f**king solid at CB.

Ya. I would've been fine with a 1 year rental though, it's too much of a gamble to give him the money he wants, especially like you said when it comes to our injury history.
Can definitely see Gilmore preferring being close to home and Carolina is most likely going to resign him to a contract we weren't willing to go for. Not mad at all, at least it wasn't LA, SEA, TB or GB. Carolina ain't s**t anyways
