No, he's still Captain Checkdown. Every once in a great while he'll risk a throw more than ten yards downfield, but not very. The Steelers are well aware of Smith's checkdown tendencies and are playing tight on defense. They should have a 28 point lead.
Of course, just as I write this response, Alice uncorks a beautiful toss 30-yards down the field and the Washingtonians score to make it a game.

Coaches should train all coverage players to hold any time a defense looks like it's going to get offsides and give the offense a free play....especially on 1st or 2nd downs.
