I would think on demand

its gotta be posted online at some point

ESPN2HD tonight at like 1am pacific. DVR it. I don't think it's available on demand. 7 of the previous 8 episodes aren't there either.
If life were fair Alex would win a couple SBs when he is able to step back on the field. I haven't met that many athletes in my 41 + years so I can't speak about all athletes but I can say with absolute certainty Alex Smith comes across as one of the most humble human beings I have ever heard or seen. If you can't pull for Alex Smith you need to make an appointment with your cardiologist stat.

I don't understand how anyone can knock this guy. His closest year came when he lost throwing to an elite one dimensional TE and a solid possession WR. Brett Swain on the other side. I wish they would have had one more solid option for him. He might have been able to pull it off. Either way the dude epitomizes a real man.

I will always remember that Saints game and the fire he showed. He overcame bad circumstances created by two clueless head coaches, fans and media crapping on him and went on to have a Pro Bowl career. He wins wherever he goes and makes few mistakes but he's still not appreciated. It's a joke how winning isn't good enough anymore. I'm grateful for the time he spent as my starting QB and I look at his story and his time here in SF as a story about redeeming a lost career. The man is mentally tough as nails and would probably make a great coach if he ever decided to go that route.
Alex my dood...he went through soo much

Smith was a project, that should have been a second or third rounder.

The 49ers should have never benched Rattay and put Smith in that early. Young QBs only have so much "media and fan forgiveness" before people become critical of them. Rattay was a throw away QB...he could have let him take the abuse that year and just groomed Smith up, so at least when he hit the field he knew what the heck he was looking at. I don't think you will find any other number one pick QB that averaged under 100 yards a game and only had 1 TD his rookie season.

Smith never stood a chance under Nolan.

Ill always remember how the 49ers seemed to do everything wrong with Smith's career, and yet the dude was a class act. Time after time he was the bigger man, and often it seemed the only adult in the room. I was highly critical of his performance, but in hindsight... we could not have asked for a more "49er" 49er. I particularly remember the contract of the Farve-Rodgers handover of power....and Farve going out of his way to not let Rodgers take his Job, versus Smith doing everything in his power to make sure Kap did not have to suffer like he did.

Hindsight tells us, Smith should not have been rated that high as a project, it also tells us Nolan never deserved a QB like Smith. I am glad Smith was able to vindicate his career. I really hope he rides off into the sunset and finds happiness outside of playing football. He has nothing left to prove.

I would be stoked if he came back as a coach or mentor.

I don't know. I'm a die hard Utes fan and have had season tickets well before Alex. Personally I think his biggest mistake was coming out his Jr. year. He really needed another year in college.

Maybe. Which reminds me and is off topic.

It should've been Alex vs Leinart in the championship imo. I think between the Alex, Urban Meyer combo, not to mention Utah's stout D, they could've given them a run.

Man I can't believe he actually wants to try and play again. The mental aspect of getting over all of that would be so insane to accomplish.

An amazing documentary though. Always been a huge Alex Smith fan and always rooted for him to succeed. So much inspiration and really good stuff. I've had some injuries (not nearly to the scale he had) but some things I could relate to. What a dude

Urban Meyer was at Florida. So it would of been Alex Smith and Kyle Whittingham. The 2005 Utah team went 7-5.

Yeah, he's a warrior

Agreed. Great dude and a strong will to recover. Still always sucked at QB.

not exactly sure what that has to do with anything. literally, your thoughts on him as a pro QB have absolutely 0 relevance to his injury and recovery/aka this thread. little did we know how bad it actually was; which makes your comment look even more pointless and the agenda extra clear. the dude almost f**king died. he was literally on his death bed at 1 point.

it wasnt even a football injury, it was an injury that turned out to be so bad it was on the level of military/war severity. i was never a fan of his as a QB but that s**t doesnt matter in the slightest. regardless of w/e my opinion is or was. such a random and childish thing to add at the end of your post.

We have had that discussion multiple times. That is not what this thread is about. If you want to stay in NFL Talk, there will be no more of that hyperbole.

im a little late and just caught up with the thread. forgive my last post above
