Superb athlete, kicker, pro.
Hell of a career.
One, fun memory: when he was a rookie, he ran down herschel walker on a would-be kick off return for a td.

Vinatieri's at the Colts facility now. Staffers awaiting word on what he's planning to do. https://t.co/DxNucaRwXe

How much of a pounding can your kicking foot take at 46?

My earliest memory of Adam Vinatieri is from the 1996 season when the Patriots under Bill Parcells (w/ Belichik as DC) lost in the Super Bowl to the Packers. Vinatieri will always be associated with the core group (mostly on defense) that was a part of the foundation of the Patriots' first three championship teams. Hard to believe he has played for a longer period of time with the Colts. He was nothing but clutch for more than two decades. It won't take him long to get in the hall of fame once he calls it quits.

Random but I always recall how Summerall mispronounced his name (he annunciated the i) during Super Bowl 31. That and how he launched the f***ing patriots dynasty with those kicks in the snow and the SB36 winner
