I still have and watch the old Niner SB games and it is amazing how many fewer timeouts and stoppages of game action there used to be. They have gradually inserted more commercials over the years and now with all the reviews it is getting harder and harder to watch. There was a time when football was supported by the advertisers. Now I think football only exists FOR the advertisers.

Yup...this years NFL goals:
1. Increase the visibility of the Los Angeles markets
2. Highlight young star QB's as the older QB's twilight
3. Brees vs. Brady in Championship but sunset Goff vs. Mahomes for the Superbowl
4. Cowboys/Seattle merchandise markets in the playoffs

There's a thread in NFL Talk -- "ESPN: Insurance market for NFL evaporating" -- which got no traction …
The article in itself was long but worth reading. If and when you decide to read it, I feel you might change your
perspective on the "New NFL".
"Once upon a time", there a myriad of insurance agencies eager to insure the leagues from Pop Warner
to the NFL. Per the article: "If you're football, hockey or soccer the insurance business doesn't want you".
They see the potential of future head trauma claims as the new asbestos nightmare, which currently costs
them Billions per year.
From my vantage point, all the rule changes -- which I sure we've not seen the last of -- were strictly based off
information the owners were privy to, long before the average Joe. It's all about protecting their industry.
One thing is certain -- even as the older hard-core fans die off -- no one will be willing to pay top dollar to watch
glorified flag football.

Yes. Me too.
After looking at this pic and knowing that the SB involves Lambs / Patsies...sad days.
Can't wait for FA and draft.

Its getting harder and harder to watch games the Niners aren't playing in.
I don't like the lack of defense, all the scoring and last minute scores to win a game are pretty meaningless without defense to contrast it against. I can enjoy a 17-21 game with defenses knocking the snot out of offenses, for four quarters, when all of a sudden an offense battles back, and comes from behind and wins it. I enjoy that much more than, a 45-48 game where the last team to have the ball wins, s**t if I want to see that, I'll just put on a basket ball game, I only really pay attention to the last 5 minutes of NBA play.
Between the lack of defense, the constant stoppage of play, and the endless whining over replays, whats catch, or ticky tack calls on not laying the QB down soft enough, its becoming unwatchable.

The one good thing about Jimmy Garrapolo. He's handsome and has a marketable face. I hope this means that in the future WWE script, we will get a couple more Superbowl runs. Referees should start throwing some flags to help us out. It's getting so tiring to watch a horrible team here.

Question: when is the last time you've seen a 49ers fan suggest that the 49ers were the beneficiary of bad calls, or that the only reason the 49ers won is because the league wanted them to?
People are so delusional they think that when the 49ers win it's "clean", but when they lose is because the league has an "agenda".
Embarrassing that people can stoop to such ridiculous levels of cognitive dissonance.

You could retroactively come up with narratives for virtually every team in the league.
I don't know what's more embarrassing: the fact that you're delusional enough to believe this, or the fact that the Echo Chamber joins in the self-pity.
Yep, the reason the 49ers aren't winning is because the league is pushing other teams. That must be it! Jesus. It's like a 23-year-old virgin coming up with excuses for why he can't get laid. "It's not me, it's them!"
I cannot believe that you've been spewing this crap for years. You must listen to InfoWars in your free time. Good grief.

You are either ranting about something you read into their posts that they didn't actually post, or are psychic. I'm guessing you aren't the latter.

No, it wasn't because Kaepernick melted down in the 4th quarter; on the contrary, here's a 15-minute YouTube clip of cherry-picked calls that "prove" that the refs were calling that game unfairly!

And go back a year prior, too. To this day there are still people that do the exact same cherry-picking of calls in the Super Bowl against the Ravens. "Look at this uncalled holding call on the Jacoby Jones kickoff return touchdown!" I'm not making stuff up. I don't need to be a psychic, people are voluntarily revealing that they're poor sports that can handle a loss with any semblance of dignity or sportsmanship, they need to grasp at straws and come up with wild conspiracy theories.
It's delusional and it's pathetic. It destroys intelligent discussion and makes this board insufferable. It's just a group of people wearing tinfoil hats feeling sorry for themselves and commiserating. The saddest part is a sizeable chunk of this board believes this nonsense. I honestly experience second-hand embarrassment knowing that grown f**king adults believe this.
