BIG TIME #REACH ...... But I ain't mad tho, if Shanny wanted him that bad, he'll be in the line up often and making plays #BookIt

The bold is what QBs love...JG gonna make him look good and vice versa

  • Good athlete with explosion traits
  • Can play outside or from slot
  • Fine-tuned route runner known for his work ethic
  • Runs full route tree
  • Accelerates off line and sinks hips into breaks for sharp turns and additional separation
  • Impressive short-area quickness for receiver with his stride length
  • Moves cornerbacks around with route savvy and effective fakes
  • Scrambles to uncover when quarterback leaves pocket
  • Works back to throws
  • Natural pass catcher with stick-and-stay hands
  • Plus concentration in traffic
  • Has sudden hands
  • Makes necessary deep ball and in-air body adjustments to catch
  • Has slant and fade quickness near goal line to dismantle coverage
  • Elusive punt return specialist with nine career touchdowns
  • Eludes first tackler and hits his top gear quickly

I am of the belief size does matter in football and the NFL. But, hey, I guess I must be the only guy in the universe who thinks that.

I'm not acting like anything. The bottom line is that Kyle has been pretty clear on what he looks for in his WRs. Its your problem if you refuse to accept it.

Route running, quickness, great change of direction ability, these are priorities in WR's for this offense. Being really tall is not.

Now if you can get a really tall guy with all those other traits then great, but that isn't often the case.
he's a combination of antonio freeman & golden tate

Rascal. This is the second year and you STILL don't know how our offense is run? Lol

GhostOfBaalke, I guess you must suffer from a severe case of amnesia. You do remember Kyle Shanahan had a 6'3" 220 lbs/6'2" 210 lbs WR tandem only 2 years ago which took the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl right?!
Anybody have the numbers on WR sets last year?

Still don't see how he gets on the field unless it's in the slot. Garçon and Goodwin aren't being benched or moved. We can't not play a 2nd rounder.
Seems like a fluid runner with good hands. I'm thinking he's like an Isaac Bruce who was about the same size and also a 2nd rounder.

2016 - 15 TDs receiving, 2 punt returns
2017 - 7 TDs receiving, 4 punt returns

Big play guy, get him the ball and he's a threat to bust it.
Probably my least-favorite move of this draft. I'd like it a lot more if we just stayed put and got him. Shanahan sees players that he likes and I get that, but they also need to understand how other teams value players. Giving up the capital that we did likely wasn't necessary.

And of course he wishes he had Julio again lmao but those come outa few times a decade. Who was the Julio in this draft? Who was the huge 6"3 220 back, breakway speed, great route running,

Sanu isn't Julio. Don't lump him in there. Lmao 5"8 165 Taylor Gabriel did better in that year than sanu.

The truth of the matter is you don't have to be Julio Jones to be a big-bodied WR who can be a big factor in an offense.

Give you another example, I didn't name Courtland Sutton personally, but a lot of people have. Apart from a good number of analysts who have given him a very positive review, even our every own Jerry Rice wanted the 9ers to draft Courtland Sutton who is by the way 6'4" and 218 lbs. I guess Jerry should know a thing or two about WRs. Just my guess. LOL.

We covered all this for months in the draft forum. You're welcome to go read there and learn a little about these receivers. Plenty of smart guys in there.

I edited too late but did you know 5"8 165 Taylor Gabriel did better in the Super Bowl year than Sanu?
Shanny's track record on o speaks for itself. If he wants a Pettis that's fine with me.

What he's doing on d has me more concerned.
whats up with all this replacement talk. Pettis isnt anyone's replacement. He is a completely different receiver than anyone we have. He is a true playmaker and that is something we are lacking right now.
