Big f**kin deal, Joe Cool had to deal with getting f**ked up every Sunday. They didn't have candy ass rules to protect the QB.

Man I hate the Chiefs so much. I unfortunately came across NFL Throwback's youtube page and they showed "clutch" NFL playoff highlights and they of course showed the final play of the SB last year. It pains me to remember they only had 7 seconds left when the ball was snapped. They only had 2 plays from the 3 and they scored on the first one. We also had them in a 2nd and 13 from their own 39...damn, still hurts.

Mahomes has only played 7 seasons, while Montana played 16.

if i am following you, the only 7 seconds is pretty meaningless. this is kind of an uncharted territory cuz even to seasoned fans, games just don't go into quarter number 6 very often or at all. however, if say they ran the ball, and ran the game clock, this game would have indeed gone into Q6. they just flip the field and play on with 15 mins of game clock. they do this until there is a winner.

Oh interesting. So once Q6 started they would pickup from the same spot on the field as well?

Yes. Think of it like any transition from the 1st to 2nd quarter. They'd simply flip directions.
If a playoff game ended after 2OT still tied they would have another half-time long break, and the start of 3OT would be like the start of the 3rd quarter.

Got it. But because we were winning I think the point still kind of holds up because if we had held them on 1st down, they would have had to decide to either kick the FG and keep playing or go for the win.
I still can't believe we lost that game. I think it is a more difficult to swallow defeat than 2019 and 2012.

I'd like to see the Texans win this game, but I just don't see it.
