I don't get what's so funny ? They won their SB with a loaded roster. Congrats to them.
we've f**ked up twice with a loaded roster….with nothing to show for it.

Yes, he is a complete QB.
You look at the contracts of Watson & Mahomes compared to Jimmy G and Darnold and it just seems right to me.

Why wouldn't u? It's a 10 year contract. 45 mil a year is gonna be a steal in a couple years.

I'm glad Mahomes no longer has the best weapons in the league. Dude ruined the fundamentals of the position.

IMO you can't win with a GOAT qb nowadays unless they take a paycut. Half a billion for one guy is a mistake IMHO.
Chiefs have no defense now, no running game, meh oline, and now , a mid tier WR core.
Kelce is still great but getting older. Merhomes was throwing ducks for a couple of games and fans were in panic mode all mid season last year.
That division just got a TINY (
) bit better as well with Broncos now having a decent qb .

Great they won't win as much. I'm looking forward to seeing that.

All the niners had to do was cover Tyreek Hill for six minutes.

That's true. That's why the blame Jimmy G thing is way over blown. You can't win this? The defense should be able to win this. Especially a good one.

Would I pay market value cost for a FQB to be a contender his entire career vs going back to being a QB less club... yes, yes I would.
Keep in mind Mahomes was around $40-45 mil annual and we are already seeing Watson around $54m annual. Mahomes deal look like such a bargain at this point I recently heard it on radio that they may have to tear the deal up in a couple years and redo it cuz guess what it's too cheap.

You should be able to win 95% of games like that. With a good defense closing out the game.

It's an insane deal though that because of its length that can be fudged on the books and cap every year, just look what they did last season in the restructure the pulled off as an example. They found massive loopholes in the leagues cap rules signing him that long.

The Chiefs have an insanely tough schedule through the first 9 weeks. Opponents combined win % last season 0.625

This.
But I wouldn't say they "found" this. They just had the balls to pull of a signing like this. To commit that long to a player in the NFL is unheard of. Teams are just too scared of injuries happening, or whatever else during the length of such a long term contract. If teams could know exactly that a player is gonna be good and stay relatively healthy for 10 years, everyone would give out those type of contracts.

Chiefs got to be one of the luckiest teams when it comes to draft boards falling their way. Last year they were able to get the best center in the draft at the very end of RD 2 because other teams decided to pass on him, including us. This year due to the Pats being idiots they were able to get both of their players in RD 1. And then they had Skyye moore fall to them because Pats thought Thornton was better.
