Oops

Enough of the snark both of you. Statistics intentionally used without context amounts to trolling/inciting.

Lol is this guy for real? ^

In an article from a KC writer this morning, it detailed three young defensive players that disappointed this year. (There is somewhat of a 49er flavor to it.)

First of all, Breeland Speaks, there top pick (#46) last year was a square peg/round hole problem. He was a defensive lineman that Sutton tried to turn into an edge defender...and he failed miserably. 24 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Tanoh Kpassagnon had just the opposite problem but similar results. He was oversized at edge but was kept there all season instead of being inside where he played in college. By the end of the season and playoffs, he was a healthy scratch.

Both of these guys being misused certainly did not help Bob Sutton's case to stay as DC.

Anthony Hitchens, a favorite of some in the FA/trade thread for the 49ers last offseason, was also a disappointment. He made a lot of tackles but very few had any real impact on the game. Too many were made 5-8 yards down field instead of around the LOS where they needed to be made. He wasn't an impact player in Dallas and wasn't for KC either. A very expensive FA lesson for a team trying to get younger on defense.

Sammy was basically given up by 2 teams

Hill and Kelce are both legit great weapons. But Patriots shut both down and Mahomes still had an outstanding game.

Why do people keep acting like Chiefs are insanely stacked. Mahomes has 2 great players, and both were shutdown

Also huge game by Sorensen, game of his life.

Without Watkins tonight the Chiefs lose in regulation by two touchdowns.

Without Mahomes they don't make the playoffs.

Mahomes is better than Alex and Jimmy G.
Alex made the playoffs with inferior weapons several times.

and won a whopping 2 games in his 13 year career.
He was in the playoffs for about five times or so.

true. if only he had elite defenses, a HOF RB, a couple of great TEs and WRs he probably could've done more. sadly, we'll never know what Alex could've done if he had weapons like Pat, or a great defense / run game like Kap had with the 49ers.
What great TEs? Vernon Davis was at his best with Alex under center.
Gore was just above - average, never elite.
Oh wait, he was surrounded by elite talent with the chiefs, right....remember the game against the colts? Please name me two very good skill position players who were healthy for most time of the game.

Chiefs were INSANELY offensively stacked with Hunt .

After he got kicked off the team everything started to slow down.
OH they finally fired Bob Sutton OH...

Could have done it when Alex Smith was there and buff up the defense then, instead of using 2 1st rounders for Mahomes, with minimum gain and still the same problem: league's 31st ranked D.

What's next when they failed again? Andy's head is what's next LOL. Let's see who Andy gets as the next Def Coord, probably another garbage lol.

LOL

From 2013 to 2017, the Chiefs were ranked 15th, 7th, 3rd, 2nd and 5th in points given up. In 2018 they were 24th.

From 2013 to 2017, the Chiefs were ranked 28th, 24th, 7th, 7th and 24th in yards given up. In 2018, they were 31st.

The Chiefs defense was substantially worse this season than any other season of the Andy Reid era. You said they should have buffed up the defense before this year....well, the defense wasnt a glaring weakness before this season.

The glaring weakness was the passing offense. And they did buff up the passing offense.

From 2013 to 2017, the Chiefs were ranked 7th, 19th, 30th, 29th and 25th in passing yards. This year they were 2nd.

Minimum gain LMAO.

Why did the D start laying turds this year after being respectable in the recent past?

Actually, Damien Williams had a higher yards/carry average (5.1) than did Hunt prior to release (4.6).

They tried to buff up the defense the past two years but the guys they brought in did very little. #1637 above.

Dee Ford had a monster year this year but this is the first time he has come close to expectations.

Yes, ultimately Reid is to blame but it isn't like defense has been completely ignored.

For starters . Eric Berry was hurt. No Marcus Peters. Tamba Hali is gone.

Houston hasn't been the same player.

Wrong. The answer is Alex Smith plays defense

That sounds like a great idea.

Then they can win no games, ever.

They never were insanely stacked. There were even times when pass pro sucked constantly.
