Isn't that basically what Mike Shanahans Playbook was?

Somewhat, but not as much with Elway. But that's also over 30 years ago. Offenses have changed a lot since then. If thats your style today, you wont be doing too much winning.

Alex is uber conservative, obviously, a lot more than the "norm." Although, a lot of the league has basically gone way more conservative with their passing attacks. Throw the ball a lot more, but less risky and a lot less INTs. Look at Brady for example. Precision offensive machine but mostly dink and dunk. That's why I like mahomes he lets that s**t rip

That type of playing isn't so bad if you hit the RB or TE in stride so they can run at top speed. If its 4th option dump off pass type of stuff, yeah, that won't work.

This, I think that style would still work, but it has to be in the flow, not a last second checkdown. Last second checkdown they get 2 yards, and get tackled right away. In the flow of the game, it's a short pass and maybe a 5 -15 yard run.
Any Update On This Man?

i think he's the odd man out, but i hope he can bounce back.

odd man out? vs. who? the only thing up against him is his injury. nothing else

I can't see how he comes back at all if this is the case. He's 35 and going to miss another season. I read somewhere that his surgery required a lot of soft tissue removal and supposedly the doctor thinks he will never play again. Dude should just retire. Does he really want to come back at 36?

He isn't going to play again. But he can continue to rehab and pull in some more money.

I don't think anyone really expects him to come back at this point. I also don't expect him to officially retire until his contract has paid out and nothing good happens for Washington if they release him. There's every reason for him to rehab at the team facility. Maybe he'll get some more coaching experience this season.

no, smith is battling smith. he's the odd man out of the NFL and his career forever. not a starting spot on a football team.

I would say they got Keenum for week 1 insurance and Haskins for the future.
