... Why? Fitterer was there to see Pete Carroll build an NFL program coming from college, and Carroll's style isn't far off from Matt Rhule's. Also, owner David Tepper has been adamant on adding value with the GM hire.

Fitterer's varied experiences would do that.

I think this has been the most sure hire since it broke that they wanted him.

What do you think...2 yrs before he retires again? I would hate the hire if I was the Jags.

Sources: the Jaguars and ex-Ohio State and Florida coach Urban Meyer are working out a deal to make Meyer the team's HC. Much of the negotiation has been over facilities upgrades and staffing. Meyer's gotten assurances in those areas.

Talks have been ongoing for over a month.

The #Falcons have identified #Saints VP/Assistant GM for Pro Personnel Terry Fontenot as the favorite to be their next GM, sources say. They won't do a deal until New Orleans is out of the playoffs, but signs point to him being the choice.

Ahhhh that's right!!! Holy smokes there's a lot of openings!!! Saleh must suck at interviews if he can't land one of those jobs!!!! Regardless I would love to have Saleh back if he can't get one of those gigs.

Like I said in another thread, I think things are moving different because of Covid. Teams seem to be interviewing tons of prospects because they're doing them online. I'd be willing to bet that Saleh pretty much has a job in hand and is waiting for Jax/Meyer to be finalized.

If Saleh is going to get a HC gig then I want it done sooner than later. The more options for replacement, the better. I do not want to go through another Norv Turner situation again.

It's going to be interesting to see if Meyer works out in the NFL. He was successful everywhere in college but a lot of that was due to recruiting great players. You can rule with an iron hand in college. Not so much in the NFL. He may draft well but he's not going to have 3 or 4 first rounders every year like he did at OSU and Florida.
