2008 teams

Rams - 2-14
49ers - 7-9
Seattle - 4-12
Arizona - 9-7
KC - 2-14
NYJ - 9-7
Raiders - 5-11
Miami - 11-5
Bills - 7-9

LoLz

Split series with NYJ and Miami but swept Buffalo. Again very far from Tom Brady-like Pats. Give the 2019 49ers that schedule and you got a 16-0 record!!!!

Yeah but Shanny has barely won 5 games without Jimmy. You make us play with Mullens and 11-5 is likely not happening. It's tough winning with the backup. Most teams fall apart in that scenario.

But I don't buy the fit here. That roster is built for Tom.

Right, but I'm not comparing Shanahan to Belichick am I.
I think if we end up shipping off Garappolo, we should trade for Cam Newton. I think the plan is to start Trey Lance. Garappolo isnt going to play second fiddle to a rookie at $25M and there is sure to be a team who experiences an injury at the position or whiffs on a QB in the draft and then will be begging us for Garappolo. Netwon base salary is like $1.5M i believe and the rest is incentives that he definitely wont collect if he is a backup. He has a similar playing style and build to Lance, so if Lance gets banged up for a game or two, we wont have to change up the playcalling. I use to think Newton was kinda immature and dumb, but I think he has really matured over the years and humbled himself. He would be a great mentor.

With Patriots taking Mac Jones, I think they fully expect him to start as well. Jones and Newton play styles are at each ends of the spectrum. Doesnt make sense for Newton to back up Jones. Im sure they would pretty much give us Newton.

Can't see why the Patriots would make this trade, nor do I see how Newton is remotely the fit for this offense that Porn Star Jimmy G is.

More importantly, Shanahan is NOT going to suddenly change this offense to a zone-read, RGIII offense. If he wanted to do that he would have drafted someone other than Lance, who among all these QBs is the one who actually ran under center pro-style concepts in college.

Lance is going to run the CURRENT 49er offense, with only minor changes. Yeah, there will be a few designed QB runs, but the biggest change is that Shanahan will re-introduce some of the deeper concepts he ran in Atlanta (full disclosure: they didn't suddenly go away here. Jimmy just couldn't connect on them consistently and so he usually didn't even try).
Annnnnnnd RELEASED by the Patriots.
He was way out played by Mac Jones. Jones is throwing dimes nonstop.

Oh Jose Cortez.
When the 49ers played Carolina in the playoffs matching Newton and Kap, Newton was the better QB. He demonstrated he could play from the pocket. He had an MVP year with the Panthers. Unfortunately, injuries robbed him of future success.

I'm wondering if Cam being Cam is what did it for him in NE. Bellichik doesn't mess around with me first guys, and even when they come from other teams have to get in line or hit the door. Cam leaving the team (last week?) then having to quarantine because he's anti vax was probably a final straw.

The worst part is Brian Hoyer beats Cam out for the #2 spot.

Is he an upgrade over Tyrod?
But he was with Cassario last year so possibly...

He has more talent than most back-ups and the way the game is played some QB will go down sooner rather than later. If his health allows it he will be back and it wouldn't surprise me to see him getting another chance to start.
This is what being an anti-vaxxer is going to get you
