I mean, if Gus Bradley is a top DC then every coordinator who has been associated with a top performing offense or defense should be viewed similarly.

We know this can't be true. Players make the coach. That's especially true at the coordinator level. I'm not saying Bradley can't be a top level DC. I'm just saying that the sample size is really small to say one way or the other.

Stop with that crap rule, Lynn is a real candidate and I think will be a good head coach where ever he goes.

Agree. That won't work. Gonna need 3.34 yards and a cloud of dust.

Yep, no thanks.

I want WCO where you pass to open up the run.

Nice. I'm all about having an offense that uses multiple personnel groupings. It's a great way to find mismatches. Sometimes an offense wants to face the dime CB so you can exploit him. Sometimes you want the defense to stay in base so their LB can be exploited in coverage. Play it differently game by game. I like that he's a former player. I feel that is usually a plus. Especially for a young team, they can go to him and he can relate better imo. Obviously, very little experience as a coordinator.

It was obvious to every viewer that Lynn took advantage of Buffalo's extra days of preparation to put together a diverse game plan. It is safe to say that they had success, as they racked up 425 total yards of offense against Seattle's defense that ranked sixth in the NFL entering Monday night.

The offensive gameplan was to stay out of 3rd-and-long situations to keep the Seattle pass rushers at bay. But it was also critical because by gaining positive yardage on first down, it keeps Lynn's playbook open on third and short-to-medium situations.

The game plan worked, Buffalo was 12-for-17 on third downs, but seven of those third downs were two yards or less. The Bills' offense entered the game as the worst in the league in third-and-one situations.

Lynn designed easy ways to gain positive yardage on first down by adding wrinkles to the offense. Here is one example.
......(continued)

Genius! Brought a tear to my eye.

My reservations with Lynn are his inexperience at the coordinator level and ability to pull assistants. He's basically a position coach so there is a lot of unknown. He did good work last season with BUF's rushing offense once Roman was let go. Seems deeply rooted in the run game, which makes sense being that he's a former RB. I'd like a more experienced coach, but I just really like that he is the only candidate that is a former player. I feel that will bode well for a young 49er team. Haven't watched him or heard him speak so I don't know what kind of temperament he has. Fire breather or calm and collected?
Crazy story on Todd Haley and Anthony Lynn. I'm guessing Parcells would highly recommend Lynn.

Lynn, now the Jets' running backs coach, and Haley, who leads the Kansas City Chiefs, were both offensive assistants for Parcells. They had celebrated the end of training camp that season by going out for pizza in the oceanfront city of Ventura, Calif., about 10 miles from their training camp site.

The details of what happened next will always be fuzzy for Lynn, the victim of a drunk driver's hit-and-run as he crossed the street after dinner. But Haley witnessed it all: The sickening sound of impact, his friend cartwheeling 45 to 50 feet in the air, the blood pouring out of Lynn's split-open face after he landed on a parked car.

"I started to run to him immediately when he was in the air, and I'm thinking, 'There is no way. This guy is dead,' " Haley recalled from Kansas City last week. "It was one of the most traumatic events that I have gone through."

Lynn - HC
Haley - OC
Rexy - DC

We need a QB developer, not a run-game specialist at OC.

This would be my #1 choice as well.

Agree. Carroll was the mastermind of that SEA defense being that he (Pete) is a DC at heart. Without knowing the inner workings of SEA staff, seems like Gus leeched off Carroll and that ultra talented defense.

Let's not forget Carroll is a defensive-minded HC who is a former DC himself. Bradley's only NFL DC experience was his stint in Seattle with Mora Jr/Carroll, and his first year under Carroll the defense ranked 25th. The year before without Carroll it was ranked 24th. That would give me a lot of pause as to how likely he would have success elsewhere.

This is the same type of HC we had since forever. The smash mouth, hit you hard kind of coach. If this was 3-5 years ago i would've loved this candidate. These types of coaches rarely get you titles, although he would help Hydes career so much. It's time to get a coach that favors the passing game for once.

Haley leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers to come to the 49ers why? And why would Pittsburgh allow it?

Just brainstorming what Lynn might be able to pull for a staff. Seems like they are close. But then again, Haley is basically home with the Steelers.
Bradley as DC would be intriguing but idk about Lynn running the offense. Having another position coach as HC just doesnt sound like a good idea after Tomsula
