Great value pick. He could've gone in the mid-2nd and nobody (except uninformed Niner fans) would've blinked. One way to look at this is to flip Harold and Tartt and basically you've evened things out in terms of value.

My favorite pick so far... I wanted him in a 1st round trade down scenario so this ends day 2 on a very high note for me. Competing against our current OLBs will do wonders for this young man!

Took me 30 seconds of film watching to say he's my favorite pick so far. Didn't study him; of course whoever i dont do baalke takes usually. Looks like a leader and plays tough. Bulk that guy up 10 pounds and he's ready to sack the QB. He should knock Lemonier out in no time. Or if we want to give Lemonier another shot next year Brooks could be cut to save money. Either way I'm very happy with Aldon, Lynch and Harold as our 1-3 OLB's of the future. It's just a question of who will be #4 and how long before Lemonier and Brooks are gone? Before or after this year?
Edit: Hopefully Lemonier bulked up and learned some new pass rush moves and he makes us give him another shot for future #4 OLB. I doubt it though.
GOFD, well said... just flip those 2picks and make the whiners happy.

Was the 24th highest ranked by his grade a 6.1 and the 5th highest ranked on day two. That has steal written all over it.

I could have sworn our defense was tight but our offense couldn't put up points.
Can Armstead, Tartt, or Harold provide a big redzone target?
Although Trent has so much talent finding quality WRs in the mid rounds so we should be good.
I can't agree. I can't see any of our 1st 3 picks translating into extra wins. If we move from 15 to 13 and take Parker that could equate to winning an extra game or 2. We have 3 guys who may be talented and valuable down the line but will not see significant playing time.
When does Armstead play if Dockett, TJE,
Dorsey, Williams, Carradine and Dial stay healthy.
What coverage does Tartt play that requires
4 safeties?
Harold has best chance of playing because Aldon could be arrested tomorrow, Brooks didn't play well and his attitude was poor, and Lemonier can't get pressure.
Crabs is gone, Simpson is unreliable, Boldin is aging, Torrey Smith is more of a compliment, Patton has shown very little, Ellington did show some flashes. Where is the guy developing behind Boldin? Next year Boldin could be gone, Patton may not make the roster this year, Simpson may fail a drug test. Ellington and Torrey Smith could be only 2 WR left on 2016 roster. Kap needs guys to develop with but every year we just keep revamp the entire WR core. How does the offense get better if they can't build chemistry between QB and top WRs?

unfortunately it seems like it takes Baalke 3 or 4 rounds to get his head out of his ass

we've seen what the defense can do with talent used the right way. we have not seen that from the offense so we can't sell anyone short for the simple fact that they didn't even get a chance to fail.

Great value pick. Can set the edge as a 3-4 OLB very effectively, and flashes big play ability. Reminds me of Ahmad Brooks. He even went to Virginia too.
Very happy with this pick.

Ellington and Torrey Smith could be the on 2 WR's on the roster for 2016?
Patton will still be here and if we want we could probably bring Boldin back for another season. There is also the rest of this draft and the 2016 draft as well to add more receivers. We could also take the 6 million we pay Boldin and use it to sign someone else next season. Relax. It's not armeggeddon.
Th real test is if Kap can develope and read defenses and find the open man or it really doesn't matter that much who our receivers are. Hopefully he does and if that is the case we have a lot of weapons on the team already.

Eli Harold holds Virginia's school record for tackles for loss by an underclassman (15) in a season (2013).

The pass rush is going to be lethal if this guy pans out. Brooks is going to become expendable soon, if he is not already. Especially with that contract.

This was a god pick. I'm curious to see if they want to try him at ILB. Niners were getting some god pass rush from the ILBs before PWillis hurt his toe.

Come a little closer...got a little secret to tell you..."we have way more talent on offense than you realize." Carry on.
I don't think people realize how good Jerome Simpson can be if his head is on straight and Boldin and Smith are going to be awesome. Hoping Patton and Ellington prove to be decent when given a chance. I also expect a lot out of the tight ends this year. I am still a little concerned about our RB position. Time will tell.
I heard we may even pass to a RB this year...other than Miller on a deep sideline go-route. Just a rumor though.
