I think the next 2 years will start to show how good Sherman really is.
He already plays on a superior defense with better secondary coaching; and that's not getting into the "style" of play he and his fellow LOBers use.
The stats thing is not very telling in this situation. Remember we had a ton of turnovers from our secondary in 2011....doesn't mean they were league's best that year.

Still SEA was smart to lock Sherman up before Hayden and Petersen got paid. SEA could have had to pay more so win for them in that regard

i think there was some more urgency to get shermans deal done quick because he was on a 5th rounders salary whereas peterson and haden were both top 10 picks, haden in the pre-rookie wage scale era. they wanted to show they take of their guys.

Good point! So I presume that the Browns showed Haden more "respect" then the Hawks did Sherman then?

I'm glad we got Sherman done when we did. If they pay Peterson more, and then Sherman demanded respect $. Then we'd really have to choose between RW and Sherman. At the moment we can afford both, and the depth will suffer.
