Gordon would make much more sense in my opinion. He's a lot younger, a lot cheaper, a lot faster, and signed through another couple years. We don't need another possession type of wide receiver. We need a big play threat. I'd give up a second round pick for Gordon in a heart beat and I believe that the Browns are still open to that despite saying otherwise. One more f**k up and Gordon is suspended for a year. We can afford to risk a second round pick on a guy with talent like that at a position of need. If we make the deal for Gordon, we'd instantly substantially increase our Superbowl chances. All we need on offense is that big play receiver that can stretch the field and then we are capable of domination, so long as our team is healthy.

That means they never got a good enough offer from any teams.

Honestly, I doubt we trade for anyone now at this point. If Baalke was going to pull the trigger and make something happen, it would've happened already. It seems that they're fully relying on Manningham and Crabtree to come back strong later in the season.

of course they are, do we expect them to say "Yeah we're trying to get rid of this dude ASAP" no way, they are trying to drive up the cost.

They really should have just cut Manningham SB window is now if he can't return to form after waiting on him that will be bad news.

This ^ agreed everywhere you read even from non 49ers fans people are saying the same thing 49ers should work out a trade for Gordon he's exactly what Kap and the offense needs.
Seriously worried another team gets Gordon because the same people who drafted AJ Jenkins can't pull the trigger on this deal WTF???????

Nicks is not happening! No way we bring a future $12mil dollar a year contract with all the Free agents we are about to have.

Among the teams holding internal discussions about him, according to club sources, were the 49ers and Falcons.
Doubt it happens though.

Of course the source for this is La Canfora, so the credibility is already highly questionable.
