Ginn just scored the go ahead TD against the Pats. Meanwhile, we can't get anything from our receivers.

You forgot to add that he didn't do s**t all game and that was his first catch of the night. You guys are seriously overblowing Ginn's performance like he's torching the league now. Sure, he's playing better but that just means he's a mediocre WR now (vs. a terrible one).

Neither do I. But I do recall a whole lot of posters celebrating the minute he departed.

Not everyone wanted him to go. He was hurt last year & clearly wasn't the same player. He has the same amount of TD's this year that Boldin has (3). And Boldin is our #1 receiver.

Why couldn't we use this guy like that?....

This. All this hindsight talk is killing me. I'd love to see the posters who spoke up at the time that we should've kept Ginn. It's one thing to be mad at the coaching staff for failing to use him effectively. It's entirely another to proclaim how we shouldn't have let him go because in 2012 based off of what the team had seen he wasn't even mediocre.

Who wanted him to stay at the time?

Ginn's success with the Panthers only tells me that we need to revamp WR coaching and evaluation process. Year after year, it's the same s**t: underperforming, undeveloped WRs behind one or maybe two veteran WR obtained in FA. Really sick of this ongoing pattern, says the team has no idea what to do with receivers.

The fact that Ginn has become a prototypical #3 WR for an offense with nearly identical personnel and identity is what is brutal. Even if Crabtree was healthy and we aquired Boldin, Ginn would be our #3 WR if we had re-signed him yet we almost never go 3 wide and actually target the #3 guy because in reality he is the #4 guy behind Vernon, Boldin, Crabtree (or manningham to be current).
Ginn was our #3 WR last season but he recognized that he would never see viable snaps. Which is why he went to a team that plays real spread football and routinely uses 3-4 WR sets.

serves us right for believing that Harbaugh and Roman can turn anybody into a superstar.
He did have some drops before that game winner and even Steve Young after MNF was clowining Ginn;
''If you would've told me that Ted Ginn? TED GINN? ..WON THE GAME?!! ON A HITCH ROUTE AGAINST THE PATROITS?!!..
TED GINN? I wouldn't believe you...............TED GINN?...WOW''
One of you sucka emcees got subtweeted by mr. Lamicheal James for not cheering on Ted Ginn.

It's the coahing.
He did NOT play well with us outside of a few run backs.
Dropped a number of passes that were right in his hands.

Nevertheless, everyone hated on him being a p***y on offense, e.g. avoiding contact and so on...already forgot about that?
Our receiving corps was relatively weak in his first two years here. Did he use this chance? Not at all.
Now, he still is mediocre at best. Got his two, three good games and thats all. And you start crying a river b/c of this???
Have you children ever asked the price of retaining him?

Has anyone even noticed that SF is the WR graveyard? this is where WR's come to die or never develop....
LaMichael James even tweeted on MNF when Ginn scored the go ahead TD....maybe a subtle message that the coaching here isn't getting it done with the talent.
