Why would they trade for him when they've got Bruce Miller? Seriously. Miller is better.

I do not see us doing it from a cost standpoint. Miller is signed for peanuts
2013 = 570K Cap Hit
2014 = 660K Cap Hit
Leach was cut because he didn't want to take a pay cut from his 3M salary this year.
However, I have to disagree with the other posters, Leach is a better fullback than Miller. I saw Leach put Willis and Bow on their asses multiple times. I don't know for sure, but I can guess that Miller has done that 0 times. Miller is great at sealing off blockers, but doesn't truck people over like that monster Leach.
If the cost was right, I would LOVE to have him on our side. Bet Pat and Bow would too

I am convinced we have the best young fullback in the NFL. Miller is gonna be so much better this year now that he has 2 years under his belt. Remember he was a DE in college. Very athletic for a fullback.

Miller has knocked a couple defenders on their asses and pancaked them a few times in his short career.
Leach is a beast. At 270, he's 20 lbs heavier than Miller, but Miller is 2 inches taller and a lot faster so he has much more value as an outlet receiver. I think with the size of the Niner offensive line, Miller is a much better fit.

Good call GNielsen - I think we'll focus elsewhere.
It's still Miller Time.

Lets look at this thing without our Scarlet and Gold colored glassed for a moment though.
Miller caught 11 balls for 83 yards in 2011 and 12 balls for 84 yards in 2012. Leach caught 21 for 143 in 2012. To say he's a better receiving threat is just not accurate. Both guys are not going to scare Defenses with their hands. The fullback position in general is just not used these days. There are more 3 WR sets, more 2 TE sets and less I formation in todays game. Hell, if you go to NFL.com and look for stats, Fullback isn't even listed! KR, PR, P, and FG K are though. Quick,,,,,name 10 Fullbacks??? Ill give you Leach, Miller and Michael Robinson to start.
Its a dying position and one that teams will fill cheaply, but don't for a minute think that Miller is better than Leach because he's "2in taller"? That the hell does that even matter for a FB? Having a low center of gravity is MORE beneficial to get under the defenders pads, not less. Miller is not a receiving option and doesn't get the ball in short yardage situations. So it boils down to one thing,,,,lead blocking. Anyone who says Miller is a better lead blocker than Leach needs to watch more football.

Thanks Nielsen! I just reread it, sorry if it came off a little harsh.
